Went "Down Under" this morning!
Lol. Hi guys,
Yes, I went out of my jurisdiction today! Thought I'd buy something a little different. Couldn't pass up this awesome Eagle from our friends down under. Couldn't go wrong, right? With it in our host's plastic, ms 69, 1 Oz. of .999 Silver, with a reverse proof appearance and to top it off. John M. Mercanti's official signature! Oh, one more thing, I only paid $40! Seen it on the bay for plenty more. Whatcha guys think?
Thanks

nice, are the black areas deep mirrors or some sort of enamel?
I ask because some of the stuff I see from Canada
Mirrors
Nothing wrong with that One, and at a Great Price also!
I like the Australia Eagles. Nice coin. Fair price. They typically sell for $40 to $50 on ebay. You might be looking at proofs going for a lot more.
It is too bad Mercanti couldn't have supplied a readable signature. I'm sure he was paid to sign those and should have been required to sign legible signatures. The coin itself is nice and it is slabbed.
As you can guess, I really dislike the scribble signature trend in autographs that has become more and more common in recent decades.
It’s a cool looking coin 👍🏻

Nice. Big fan of the Perth mint stuff, always gorgeous, have a nice stack of stuff as well.

I think it’s cool!
The world is a big place with cool art, coin and culture to appreciate in all forms.
I happen to like many of the bullion issues from Australia and have many in my collection as well.
They have done a good job in representing nature in their issues for many, many years.

Nice!! I've thought about adding to my collection a 1 oz. silver coin from every country that issue them. Now I'm thinking about it again.
I have several of these bullion silver dollars from many different countries, the China pandas are probably among the most popular. None of mine are graded and wouldn’t pay any extra for that but for 40 I think yours came more or less gratis! Good score...!!
But what if that’s his actual signature? My signature is a scribble with only a few letters… sort of. The quality may drop more if you have me sign 1000 times, but even just one nice one isn’t going to look anything like my name, but it will match everything I’ve signed since I was maybe 10 years old.
I’m in the same boat @airplanenut
None of my signatures look exactly the same, or any different. It’s all the same general scribble. Writing my name in cursive hasn’t ever been my signature, though it did used to have a few more legible letters.
I like your coin @joeykoins looks like a fun pick up at a fair price.
That is a very nice coin.... Good price as well. I like big silver, and though I mainly collect U.S. coins, there are super attractive one's from other countries. Cheers, RickO
I doubt Mercanti's signature adds much if any value to the slab. I sure wouldn't pay any extra for it.

I really like the Australian Eagles and have collected the 2021P High Relief - Enhanced Reverse Proof and mint-state coins (REV Proof 70 and MS 70 respectively). I agree with the signature issue, but it does not take away from the beauty of the "wedge-tailed" eagle.
Was 2021 the first year of issue of the "wedge-tailed" eagle??
Why's the woman on the other side not flinching with that eagle poised to attack? Peace Roy

Could anyone imagine trying to start a collection of Doctor signatures?
Nobody would know who they belong to.

Did you see the photo? It is dated 2015. This is the first Wedge Tailed design....there are currently seven. This one was issued 2014-2015.
Nice, I like it. I might have more Perth stuff than anything else oz wise, love the designs.
Definitely a great Eagle design.
Like the black, mirrored fields.
