Around gem; these come nice so have to be above the bell curve for graders to give them the gem grade. Striations are not cleaning, though they may look like them.

64PL seems about right.

Nice to see I was in a bit of a majority as I don't collect these ... looks to me like a higher end 64PL

Amazing but I looked at it and immediately thought 64PL but looking again I think I’m seeing an older anacs holder and can’t remember if they used PL. I am going to say ms65. 64+ PL is my gut feeling but I don’t think they used those terms. 😉

I'm in the 64PL camp... very nice

Due to the slight scrape across cheek, and reverse, I'm guessing 63.
planchet striations as made by the mint in the rolling process. Coin quite possibly MS 65, but I'd buy as a 64 as there is a light scratch
My appraisal is MS65... Nice looking coin... Cheers, RickO
I thought 64 also

I think ANACS did use PL so I'm in the 64PL crowd.

Someday this coin is going in for a regrade. I think it is at least a 64 PL.

IMHO, I'd leave it alone. Its a great looking 63. at least a B coin, maybe an A. You have it in an older ANACs white slab (# < 1MM) when grading was tough and folks appreciate, and are willing to pay a little more to purchase. To me, the price difference between a 63 and 64 doesn't warrant spending the money and time to regrade. Since the 78-S was usually fully struck with brilliant luster, I don't think TPG's hand out the PL designation easily, and shouldn't. Here is my 63PL for comparison.
