Great Collections pays $4.75 million for an Ultra High Relief Saint.

Heritage just posted that they have sold a high relief to Great Collections. From the article, the end buyer is the owner of the 1933 Saint. Wonder if they also acquired an 1804 Dollar, 1894-S Dime and 1913 Liberty nickel recently as well.

No interest on money in the bank. It might as well go into something that can't be duplicated and will be in demand by another billionaire down the road.
Hope they don't change their fee structure to pay for it!
Great Collections has really been making a name for themselves. If these are being purchased by the same buyer, they're assembling one heck of a set!

Irvine, California; Dallas Texas) December 13, 2021 – One of America’s greatest coins, the 1907 Saint-Gaudens Ultra High Relief, has changed hands for a record $4.75 million in a private transaction between GreatCollections Coin Auctions of Irvine, Calif. and Heritage Auctions of Dallas, Texas.
The 1907 Saint-Gaudens Ultra High Relief PCGS Proof-68 CAC is among the finest examples known, and last appeared in a 2007 Heritage auction where it realized $1.84 million.
“After our display of the legendary 1933 Saint-Gaudens at the ANA in August, we had been searching for a superb Ultra High Relief for the same owner as the 1933 Saint. 20 years ago, he set his goal to own both of these coins and today he realized his dream,” said Ian Russell, president of GreatCollections, after purchasing the coin from Heritage.

I had posted about "GC's" Box Of Twenty. This would be #8.

It is nice to see the "anonymous" buyer of the 1933 is expanding his collection.

Nice Simpson coin.
Seems like quite a few heavy hitter coins are going to GC now.
I could retire comfortably with the sale of this coin, spectacular specimen.

I see a single ding on the reverse on the feather closest to the center of the coin, and a few random carbon spots. Definitley a looker in all respects!
That is a stunning coin.
We need a “what’s next” poll
For 4 million I would buy a Bugatti instead and collect ladies phone numbers but coins are cool too. You do you whale

I suspect at that level it isn’t a question of “instead” but “in addition to.” Also, the crowd following a Bugatti is going to be overwhelmingly male.
The UHR is a remarkable coin. I have held a 68 in hand (quite possibly this one) and it’s truly one of the most captivating coins in all of numismatics.
Please tag me when you do, because I want to know too!

Very cool - I assume GC didn't buy the coin for $4.75 mil and assume any risk but acted as the agent for the purchase??
Looking forward to seeing the coin at FUN!
You’re not kidding !
Amazing coin!
Maybe one day I’ll be lucky enough to lose something that nice in my next divorce.
Captivating is the best word to describe it.

What if he already has a $6 million Bugatti Divo and a $3 million Bugatti Chiron? Every Divo owner also has a Chiron.
After all, those two cars together are less than half his $19 million 1933 DE.
That's awesome Ian! It will be an amazing sight. You're doing a great job of making these wonderful coins available to view and enjoy!
I have to ask for the other forum members here, will it arrive in a gold Buggati?

My recollection of the first time I saw a 1933 Saint and a High Relief (I am sure it was not an Ultra High Relief)
I think it was at the 2005 ANA in San Francisco. The Smithsonian had a display.
I was excited to finally see the "famous" 1933 Saint. It was next to the high relief, and once I saw them side by side, the 1933 was just a ho hum coin. For a Saint, nothing compares to the high relief examples (the Ultra High Relief must be spectacular)
It is nice to see the owner of the 33 expanding.
It will be fun to see what Ian has in mind next. All of these transactions could have been anonymous, and we would not be able to follow along. Thank you for sharing the adventure. (for people like me, the adventure of others is all we have in regards to the million dollar gems)
