Was this reverse rim detail caused by PMD? 1804 Draped Bust Half Cent

This coin was in my first 7070, and I sold it because of what I assumed to be PMD and cannot imagine what else it could be. Shame as I really liked it, but then so did someone else.

I assume you are referring to one of the following:
-(lack of) denticles: it's a later die state
-the R in AMERICA: a die crack, with some sinking (so on the die)
-above ED in UNITED: most likely a minor dent and thus PMD; but it doesn't seem too bothersome, at least without seeing it n the copper.

Yes the ding at ED was the pmd I was speaking of. Couldn't think of any way it could have happened in the minting process, but it just appears so machine like with no continuing damage elsewhere. I have had several 04's and 06's and none of which had denticles, so must have all been LDS. Thanks for your response.

The rim nick looks like old damage that has worn with the coin. Cheers, RickO
Still a very attractive coin.
