Baltimore show report

Yesterday was a nice day in several ways. My 3 hour drive from New Hope Pa was uneventful. Even arrived 5 minutes before opening. Couple hundred milling around, expo staff very pleasant, name tags issued and the doors opened to vendors galore. I saw many enter with large satchels, luggage, boxes, etc. I saw many transactions, some involving want lists, set building, gifts and so on. I called @No Headlights on my phone and he met me at the eating area. We had a great conversation about coins, detecting, family, life. I'm glad to know Jim better. The Whitman kiosk was was right there. I asked about the release of the new CPG. The person had no information, refused to even commit to a possible quarter in 2022. When I mentioned the CPG, I saw 2 other staffers give each other the hairy eyeball. I went back later and asked them about the CPG, they said there was no info. @Tibor I tried. Didn't get the other text about the autographed book beforehand.
I really enjoyed examining lots of coins and exonumia. I saw Charmy, said hello but she was engaged with someone. The mask requirement was only important as you entered the expo center and the show. After that, it was mixed. I picked up a real nice 1925 Peace ms64 from a cowboy from Texarkana and 2914 Carr Glendale CC copper ms69. More importantly, coin shows are alive and worth the effort for me. Have a good day. Peace Roy

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
👍 ...... Cool report! Wish I could have attended the show
My former table mate said it was a terrible show for him. Got interrupted before I could get the details though. He's the opposite of me as he's a wholesaler.
I just left the show today. Here are some pics of the Convention Center, the Federal Reserve Baltimore Branch located across the street, some show pics and a pic of the Old Baltimore Shot Tower where back in the day they made ammunition for muskets by dropping liquid lead from the top forming shot as it fell and then it landed in cold water at the bottom!

This is my impersonation of red lightcamera! 😂🤣
Here are pics of our favorite forum host and the coin show host!😎

Now for my show report:
In my opinion there were many more booths this year than the last show back in 2019. It truly was fun to see so many different types of collectibles. I didn't realize the diversity of our hobby until today.
There were even a few selling W quarters! Only a few though and I asked every booth!🤣😂
Overall, I had a great time but didn't buy anything however I made 2 new connections for future deals!😎
Stopped by today to take a look around. AU Peace Dollars all day long @ $34 Bucks as many as you wanted..AS Eagles from 1986 through 2021 $37 Bucks all day long, Cases were full but Dealers needed Inventory a lot of "Buy" signs out, searched the floor from one end to the other for nice "reasonable" Buffaloes Prices were Firm no wiggle at all. Weather was not bad, traffic was a little heavy but had a Great Time.
Nice report. Thanks for taking the time to write it!
37!

Mini-report from today at Baltimore:
Had to drag my son (12 yo) out of bed, put a Nintendo in his hand, then stop at McD's for HIS breakfast as I had my coffee. An hour or so later parked at the usual hotel; yikes parking $28 for 2 hours now!!! I got in the doors and went right to our hosts (shameless plug - can they give me a discount?) & dropped 10 very nice exceptionally rare coins off that I hope to report on as they return even if they are World.
The greeter at PCGS - forgot his name - was so nice to my son and gave him a sample slab and blue box & pleasant conversation. Nice of him and PCGS!
Finished that at just before 11:39 AM, so went over to the other ATS people and they were CLOSING UP! So no coins to them, I would strongly recommend they accept up until noon.
Went up and down, back and forth down the aisles as I was under pressure from Junior. Didn't really see a whole lot of interest & almost bought a couple of books but let them go as they were not mandatory. Kind of wanted to see what opinion people had of my 1895 S dollar that I had gotten raw off Bowers and Merena back in the day - it had slabbed 62PL over ATS but had fabulously clean devices without hairlines extending on to them but mildly in the fields. I am still not sure it is stuck at the 62 and not good enough for a 3 or so...
So bucked up on out of there with no coin purchases and took junior home with a quick stop at Chipotle's to feed said native and then back home to some football and cardio exercises....
Well, just Love coins, period.
Thanks Dad!............Peace Roy

I knew parking would be expensive. I used spothero to find a parking spot for $14 for the full day vs having to pay $30+ the night before. I did not buy anything either, but it was amazing to see a lot of coins. Morgan dollars and gold coins were everywhere. I learned about the SS Andrea Doria which was pretty cool. I also went to the stacks and bowers security room to look at a few coins I am interesting in bidding on this upcoming week. Overall, I really enjoyed myself.

I also paid $28 for a few hours of parking. Got to the show around 11am, probably half the dealers had already left and between 11-12 many more were packing up. I finally decided to forgo systematically going down rows and instead seek out any dealers still there that might have a decent inventory of what I was looking for - so seemed a little rushed. I saw some large cents that seemed to be priced reasonably, but they were lower grade than what I was looking for. Passed on another coin that was just priced to high. It was good to have the show back again, but too bad so many dealers bail early for the Saturday attendees.
