1882-CC GSA Morgan grade help

The above are 2 photos of each side, using different lighting angles, with the camera and light I had on hand (not my best).
You can ignore the blue tone in some of the photos - that is from my shirt, I think!
I am not experienced in grading Morgans, but I used PCGS Photograde to estimate the grade.
It would be great to see what others think about the grade.

What’s up with the brown/beige on the obverse?

I'm not sure. I don't have the coin in hand currently.
I don't think it is a reflection of nearby objects, because it does not show up on other GSAs that I photographed
    at the same time.

    63 is my opinion 😉

I like the luster but the cheek has me distracted, as does the neck. Field hits, etc. about average for a 63 - the face/cheek issues has me pulled down to a 62 as they are just too important aesthetically.

If they were any other Morgan's they'd be MS 62 at best. As CC's they get a little consideration so MS 63 would not be shocking. Value wise they are similar anyway.

Would you say it's unnecessary to send them to grading unless its a gem or better or to have them cert in any condition?

    62 here.

Wouldn’t be surprised with a 63 and to the question of whether to grade I wouldn’t if it were me.
Grading is only necessary for a common date (like that one) if it is really high grade like 65 or higher - just imo

If the luster is outstanding, a 63+ with pcgs possibly a 63..

Solid 63. Don't bother with TPG-ing as it won't help the value enough.

Thanks for all the help - this is great!
For the record, my try using Photograde I had this as borderline
    between 64 and 63, and I wrote down 64.
Another case of "ownership adds a point", I guess.
I'm changing it to 63 now.

Do us the favor of reporting the grade when it comes - if you remember. I like CC's but afraid I feel 63 is still optimistic as I could picture scarcer Morgans in 62 with less activity, admittedly from about 10 years ago.

I should have mentioned - I have no plans to have it slabbed,
because as noted in posts above, the value does not change much between 62 and 63,
and it's already in a holder that many people like. A large holder, though!
My goal was to improve my grading skills.

There are 2 1885-CC GSAs as well, where the value is more affected by grade,
but they are not as nice and seem solidly in the 62 range.

GTG has a margin of error and photo quality plays a big role

I wouldn’t say 63 based solely off gtg.

    63

    When in doubt, don't.

Cheek says it all, Bag marks and that slight gouge coming off the back of the lips holds it to 63

No to grading. They're salable easily as is. Maybe even better at auction not slabbed.

When grading Morgan's imagine it's human with an injury. If the injury would cause bleeding that reduces grade severely from a light abrasion.

    MS-62+ or 63

It has quite a few marks on the cheek, but good luster.
