I'm kind of in love with this new quarter....PF-65+CAC....Looks better than a whole lot of PF-67's I've seen!

The toning adds tremendously to the eye appeal IMHO.

That coin probably spent many years in a Wayte Raymond style album or holder to tone in that manner. Very eye-appealing!

Damn! That's about as dark of toning I've ever seen that is still beautiful.

    Agreed!
That toning seems designed to highlight the important elements of the obv and reverse.

    Beautiful!

    As most of your specimens.
Now, not to take anything away from your gem. And not to compare my coin, in the least, to yours but the circumference's are similar. Why the blackness? Thank you.

@joeykoins always welcome to post photos on my threads Joey! Especially toned material. Washington looks a bit hammered, but I'm a sucker for blue toning! Here's one more of my all-time favorite quarters...This one is PF-65...Not even a + !!!!! Crazy...Love coins that look this good, that are graded super conservative.

@BustDMs Very funny! Hey I like those....What are they?

  • BustDMsBustDMs Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭✭✭

It was popular in Victorian England to enamel coins for use as jewelry, usually as pins. Most are British but other countries coins are available.

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Did not know that. So then, the above reverse Bust Halves were legitimate coins that have been enameled?

Very pretty. Do you know anything about what collections it's been in before? It has a look I associate with big deal collections that matter.

That's a stunner! A coin like this is meant to be rotated under the light over and over and over again to be thoroughly enjoyed. Incredible!
