Hi guys, I know we collectors don't collect all denominations. However, how many of you out there just realize, concerning a very popular series,
that," hey, I don't even have ONE in my collection"?
I must now seek for that missing coin and buy one or two. Lol. For me, it's the world renown Peace Dollar! Unbelievable. Didn't realize. How 'bout you guys? Thanks :)

Oh?

Just realized, I do have one! But I don't consider this to be my coin. It's my father's Peace Dollar, he gave to us kid's. ;)

    I don't have any SLQ's.
Would like to get one in at least a MS64.
    Someday.

My type sets cure most of that, yet I do realize I don't have any Presidential dollars, nor honestly, do I want any.
I also don't have most of the modern clad commemoratives.
I've made peace with these realizations.

Yea SLQ for sure, one of my favorites. Only have a couple smoothies you can barely even tell they were once coins.
SLQ or a nice 3 cent silver

For me it is the SLQ. That was the first classic coin that I ever attempted to complete in MS and had quite a few of them in the mid-'90s. I've always loved the series and now I don't even have one as bullion "junk"!

I have at least a crap example of most 19/20th century non-gold types. Maybe missing some large cents.
But I don't have NICE examples of some of that copper.

As @braddick notes, moderns are very popular, and I don't have examples of any state quarters, presidential dollars, or anything else 21st century. Bleh.

    Another absent coin/s

Anything in Gold. Not ONE in my collection.
However, I did have a $5 Gold Eagle, in which I won at a local coin show in February or March. I flipped it in the same week I won it. Lol. Got $200 for it.
Yep, no Gold, as of today, anyway. :*
I have an old thread about it.

I was surprised to find that I didn't have a 1883 No Cents 5c or a 1964 Kennedy half when I was putting stuff in a 7070. Other holes in my collection don't surprise me.

There are a lot of coins I like but at this point in life I’m resisting the urge to do anything other than finish/upgrade my Franklin collection. My family will have their hands full getting rid of the stuff I’ve accumulated. Somehow the interest in coins, music, knives, guns, motorcycles, flying, etc. never filtered its way down to the kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

There are quite a few type of coins I do not have.... and likely will never get. Just not interested in some of them. Cheers, RickO

Fill that Kennedy hole with an Accented Hair one if you can.

The series I don't have examples of are voids by choice, resources, or I had them once but have since moved on.

    When in doubt, don't.

I don't have any 20 cent pieces - I did win one on eBay recently for a very low bid - actually the bid was so low the seller canceled the transaction - :D !!!!!! I'm torn between giving him a negative feedback or just blowing it off ...............

Over time I've had one or two of just about everything silver except early dollars, Peace, & Trade dollars. No particular reason, but when I was shooting for the stars and putting together an across the board type set I just never got there.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

    I still don’t have a Stella. ;)

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

For me, loving the Washington Quarter Series so much. Not one Standing Liberty in my collection. Shame on me, right? :/
