Buffalo nickel

I have come across a very unique 2005 buffalo nickel. Right off the bat you can see iy has black beauty qualities and is visually smaller than others like it. So I weighed it and it is one tenth of a gram lighter and has a crack going through the middle of the buffalo. This is actually in my opinion a beautiful mistake. The way the black shades Jeffersons face is beautiful. I am not sure it was a mistake.

@Clairwo .... Welcome aboard. We will need pictures, however, from your description, your coin is not a U.S. Mint issue... likely a game piece or something fabricated. No Buffalo nickels were issued in 2005... and no Buffalo nickels had Jefferson on the obverse. Cheers, RickO

Millions of buffalo nickels where minted by the US Mint in 2005.

@OPA .... I stand corrected...color me highly embarrassed...I totally blanked that coin. I apologize to @Clairwo... I had a temporary mental block....Only considered the original Buffalo nickel. Cheers, RickO
