1956-D RPM#1 LDS with BIE

I have been looking for quite a long time for an uncirculated copy of 1956-D RPM#1 Lincoln Cent that has the late die state BIE, and happily a CCF forum member sent me his UNC copy to photograph. I'm still looking for a BU example, but now I have at least a good photo of this rare error/variety coin. Take a look at these high resolution photos:

Nice photos Ray.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Great pics - that's a heck of a variety cent - can't miss that one!

Excellent pictures and a nice specimen.... each of the 'special' features are clear without further magnification. Cheers, RickO
When I first started to collect Lincoln coins, I saved many BIE errors.
Now I have to find out where I put that box that contains all of my old 2x2s.
Hopefully with fingers crossed that I can find a RPM.

Kennedys are my quest...
The "biggest" BIE is the 1955-S BIE called the "sausage", and it is a late die stage of RPM #4. Good one to look for.
I like these coins with multiple recognizable "special features" (as @ricko put it) like RPM+DDO, DD+DDR, RPM+BIE, etc.

Back in the early days of eBay I bought a partial roll of 1956-D RPM#1 cents, and one of them had the BIE die break. I looked for a long time after and never found another. Nice to see someone appreciating the rarity of that particular combo.
