Richmond, VA coin show report...

The richmond va coin show was held this past weekend. It was a fantastic show. Bill scott and the team of Richmond club members run a very organized and well planned show. On the way to the show we stopped at a drive through for breakfast

We got there early morning to set up. Soon after there were coins being brought to out table by others dealers to look at and buy.

In the groups we bought 3 complete bu sets of franklin halves, 2 bu roosey sets, a nice mid grade indian head set, a mid grade wheat set, and a partial set if high grade buffalo nickels.

After all the buying the show was opened. Silver eagles were all over the place at 32 to 35 each. I saw alot of the "specialty" silver selling (like superman and different genre rounds). I heard alot of "my bullion price is firm because my suppliers are out of this or that item".

Gold also seemed to be all over the place. 10ths up to ounces were trading at levels with quite a high premium, but customers were buying it.

Every genre of coin was selling at our tables, with Indian head cents, wheat cents, Buffalo nickels, and walkers taking the largest inventory hit.

Key dates were also hot. We went in happy about having so many key dates and now that number has been cut in half if not more.

Day one was extremely busy and lots of sales and purchases were made.

Off to dinner

Saturday morning started at the waffle house.

Then to the show we went. I had alot more coins to look at dealers had offered me so I spent the morning buying them. More and more stuff seemed to be going in the buying box, which is a good thing.

The show opened and again it was a brisk pace to the coins going out. Was happy to be able to catch up with @kaz at the show. We always look forward to talking with him. I had a few roosey dimes for him also. The day was fast paced and before I knew it, it was almost over for the day. We packed up Saturday due to a 70th birthday we had Sunday for my stepfather. Normally we are there all weekend.

A few of the more interesting pickups from the weekend....

No they are both the large motto unfortunately as I need a small motto for a customer.

The premiums being paid for bullion coins (ASEs) are absurd. Fear is starting affect bullion coin prices and that isn't a good thing.

    All glory is fleeting.

That is what makes it worrying.

Nice report. We were there for Friday and Saturday and you're correct that Bill Scott does a great job with this show.
