Miss Liberty on the Twenty-Cent piece gets my vote... Heck does she even have teeth?

The Seated Liberty is my least favorite followed closely by the Classic Head.

I never really found Liberty on the Chain cent particularly attractive. Certainly the hairdo takes first prize! :)

"Booby head" Her nose is a tad large.....I'd need beer googles to ask her out. Lovely hair do however.

Some of the worn out Barber series makes her look somewhat like a hermaphrodite. :s

I'm more forgiving of early issues. The US platinum Statue of Liberty is quite unattractive to me.

I never cared for any of the liberty seated faces, but you are correct the twenty cent piece is just so wrong.

lol, liberty's face on the 20 cent is pretty bad. I had thought the barber liberty was a man for a long time... :o

No! We're rating the artistic ability of various mint engravers. These are not real people.

At least some Miss Liberty renditions are based on models, but I do agree that we're commenting on artistic merit here.

Undoubtedly the Chain Cent! I really love the Reverse though.

The very early coinage had some pretty bad renditions of Lady Liberty. The 1792 Half Disme is also pretty bad...........

I think the Barber coinage has a very masculine Liberty too.

I never considered the Liberty images to represent feminine beauty. Liberty is a principle, and the assigned image(s) represented that principle. Now, an attractive feminine image (IMO) would be the British coins with the young Queen Elizabeth, very nicely done, especially attractive on a proof coin. Cheers, RickO

The lass on the 15 cent fractional is technically Columbia, not Liberty.

I'm a fan of the $3 design myself, but I am going to second the Morgan Dollar. I own one Morgan. I still amble around trying to referee kids soccer matches, and I use a 1921 Morgan for the coin toss. So many people (kids) have commented how cool the coin is, and I once ran into another ref who did the same thing. I'd take chain cent liberty over Morgan Dollar liberty :).

Matron Head Large Cents are in my top three or four, along with (sorry) Barber coins, nickels included, and seated coinage of all denominations.

I’m just going to come out and say it as well— that chain cent. I feel like I’m dog piling but it could’ve done better even in the 1790s.

I agree with the Barber design being the least feminine, and possibly the ugliest Ms. Liberty of the US coin designs. Although I still enjoy collecting them!

I am surprised that no one has posted examples of the "fat old broad" who appeared on the later dates in the early gold series. The women on the obverse of these coins is really unattractive.
