I found this "silver" penny in my wife's car. Says it is 2007 D. Is this a fake or somehow plated?

    @Oddpenny .... Welcome aboard. Definitely not as minted... Plated as an experiment or for jewelry (look for evidence of being in a bezel)... No numismatic premium. Cheers, RickO

    Reminds me of the penny’s we would rub with liquid Mercury as a little kid to make them shiny and silvery.
    That stuff was so fun to play with!

    Maybe that’s why I’m a little eccentric have have tremors in my hands ? ;-)
