Grade Posted - New 1917 S Reverse Walker for my early date set
Happy Friday. This one is obviously not unc, but definitely wholesome and original. Happy to be filling holes in my early date Walker set. GTG if you’d like.

What does the "reverse"mean?
The mint mark is on the reverse of the coin.

A piece with excellent eye-appeal. Nice!
au50 with nice luster but at least one possible scratch
Another lesson learned today.
Thanks

Kennedys are my quest...
I found one of the same date and Mint and condition in circulation back around 1963.

AU 55 is my guess. Nice pickup.
This is one of those dates that used to “be around “ in XF-AU at shows back in the 80’s, but have long since disappeared.
53.
53 with about a 25-30% shot at 55... looks better than 50.

I'll guess 53, nice early Walker!

My thoughts exactly.

I know I have commented on this before, but I really appreciate your icon. Talk about legends...it doesn’t get much better that this. If I could find a decent enough image of Bubber MIley or Jabbo Smith, I would consider changing my icon.

Morning. You all gave this one some love! Guesses ranged between 50-55. She’s actually in a XF45 holder. Real nice looking with original surfaces and some peripheral luster remaining. Have a great weekend!
Wow, they must have applied EAC grading standards.
Maybe the scratches netted it down more than I thought, anyway.
The reverse seems to be the weaker of the two sides, but still looks AU 50, and I figured the obverse detail and luster carried it higher.
Looked at least 50 to me too...
Edited to add: this isn't my area of collecting, do you think it might CAC?

I would have guessed 55. Congratulations on a tough early issue half dollar that is certainly strong for its assigned grade.
The coin is a 1917-s... it is in the AU spectrum. 45 is just not the opinion one would expect unless the coin in hand looks significantly different from what the image portrays.
On a serious note... the 1923-s and earlier WLH dollars have weaker skirt lines and a lower relief and these need to be held to a different standard. This is a one of those issues that is often overlooked by many including those that should know better.

Nice coin! I would have guessed 53 ish.
Sweet regardless!
“Buy the coin, not the holder.”
But in this case, maybe that saying worked to your advantage ;-)

maybe gold CAC?
Well, just Love coins, period.
Well... late to the game.... was going to guess 50.... Still a nice WLH.... Cheers, RickO
And I kept my mouth shut so I wouldn't upset the majority!
