Doctor wants me to get up and about...My brief Show Report and purchases.
Hi guys, feeling stronger. I am to obey my doctor's orders. So I'm going to try a little exercise ploy. Just a short stunt. I'm going to attempt to attend one of my local coin shows,
The Tinley Park Convention in Tinley Park, IL.
Yes guys, I'm going through with it! Maybe I'll just stay 2 hrs. tops? Then go back home. I have money burning a hole in my pocket. Lol. Remember, it's been over 3 weeks! I'll be hunting down two particular coins to Cherry it's high valued variety aspect. Not mentioning what coin. I don't want you guys beating me to it before I get there. I also may purchase some proof sets to hope for some Cameo coins?
I miss the game guys. You know I do. Maybe, I'll see some of you there? I'll clue you in tomorrow guys. Thanks

Glad you’re feeling better Joey.
Call me old fashioned, but aren’t there guidelines in place related to a certain virus that’s been widely circulating in our population, with a high component of airborne transmission?
Might want to run this by your doctor. After all, you do seem intent on following their advice?
For the better?

Well, first of all. I will be definitely wearing my mask. Also, worth pointing out. As of now, I am officially not carrying the virus! It's gone, the doctors claim. We'll see what tomorrow brings at my arrival. I will NOT push it! The moment I feel fatigued or light headed. I'll call it a day. This trip is only approximately 10 miles away.

If the virus has cleared, the doctors give you the go ahead, and you’re up to it, dig in!
Good to hear!

So 3wks with no LCS trips, no bank runs and no (limited?) Starbucks?
I feel a new record purchase coming in Joey’s future. You’ve got to be feeling pretty rich with all that deferred spending!
Good luck at the show and I hope you feel well the whole time. I’m glad you’re on the mend.
I hope you got your shots!
Have fun

Find some thing good for yourself 🙂
Good luck at the show Joey....Hope you find your 'prize' coins....Glad to hear you are feeling better. Cheers, RickO
Glad to see you're feeling better. Enjoy the show and use caution , take a small bottle of hand sanitizer with you. As someone who had a major surgery this year......I have gone out to shows and kept my distance, wore a mask. Limit my time spent in the hall.

Keep in mind you're still in recovery and your body is weakened. It would seem to be wise at this stage to avoid being around others who could give you some other illness! In any event, I am happy things are looking up Joey.

Another Joey survives. On with the hunt, brother.
Morning Joey. If you go out listen to your body. And have a little fun.
Hey today you can post a coin.
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
If you do end up going just listen to what your body is telling you and post a show report, and have fun.

The pilot (and highly conservative decision-maker) in me would like to point out a flaw in this plan: Once you feel fatigued or light-headed, you're 10 miles away from home. Is it safe to drive home at that point? What happens if you start to feel tired, get in the car, and then your fatigue ratchets way up? What if you don't notice it? At the very least I'd either bring someone who could drive you, or more likely stay very local until you know you have significant strength to do normal activity again.
If you are feeling tired it would probably be best not to attend. I know you want to get back into coins but don't let that lead you into making bad health decisions.
Hope you find those cherries. Post them if you do.
Let us know either way how you made out in both health and coins.

Just don't find anything TOO valuable, at first. If you cherry a "No S" proof, that might be too much for you!
Be safe! Looking forward to the show report...

Fun!!!
Very exciting for me after what I've been through. Missed the game tremendously.

Ok, first of all,
Limited tables. They held the show in a different room, smaller, than usual? Don't know why? ??Met some familiar faces, as well as, friends. Some from the forum. Even my neighbor that I attended the recent ANA Rosemont show in August. He was shocked to see me. Lol
Even seen some Youtubers.
Anyway, back to the report.
Many beautiful coins viewed. old, new, slabbed and raw. I almost pulled the trigger on a Lincoln Cent 1984 doubled ear variety. PCGS ms 65 RD rd. $400. Too pricey but enticing. Obvious variety. No loupe needed to see! Couldn't find my target cherries I was set out to hunt down. Checked many coins, albums, sets and various tables. I gave up. So, I settled for three interesting items. One item, a roll of Wartime nickels for home to search through. Mostly 1943p but many other dates and mint mark's. Then, two more items, to continue my personal collections.
The 1956p "B"reverse quarter and an old gen. 1 PCGS Rattler 1939p Mercury dime.
Nothing earthshaking, about $75 total cost. I really enjoyed myself with the whole atmosphere theme.
So, that's when I started feeling it! 2 hrs. of walking and hunting and conversing. Decided to go home. I was ok enough to drive and relax for the 10 mile trek.
One thing guys, I forget. Some residue left on the holder. How and what to use to remove? goo gone? Thanks guys

The 1956 Washington does not appear to be a type B reverse. See where the leaves meet the tips of the arrows. Good to see you posting again.
Really? When spotting the two letters, "ES" separated in states. I thought for sure that is the giveaway? No?

NICE dime Joey. I dont know anything about the quarter. Is there a guide with photos that explains the different reverses? It wouldn't hurt for me to learn something new.

Goo Gone will remove the sticker residue but be very careful not to let it near any seams as it will quickly get inside the holder.
The 1956 quarter looks like it has been burnished with a cloth - a form of cleaning.
Here is a photo from PCGS of a type B reverse. DO NOT USE acetone to clean the slab.
Glad you had fun and found some coins that interested you.
