Has the obverse of this 20c been re-engraved?

I've been watching this one- primarily because it is listed as a quarter when it is truly the scarcer 20c. Few people are probably watching it because of this mistake in the listing.
Upon scrutiny, though, I believe the obverse may have been worked on. Re-engraved as the shield shows no signs of the LIBERTY on the shield, yet the skirt detail (and to a lesser extent, the hand detail) is decent- if not looking a bit 'off'.
Your thoughts?

I absolutely agree!
I had a 1799 large cent that was similarly re-engraved.
Hard to tell from that crappy picture, but I am inclined to say no. The raised LIBERTY can be gone on a VG.
ok, here is a comp image to see where the engraving may be (is).
HA. just kiddin. i just needed ANY excuse to post that obscenely amazing 75-s
here is the comp(s).
Well, that shows ya how much I know about 20c pieces! In my 60 years of collecting I've only ever had one.
Yes. It’s been “tooled” to the left and around the shield and to the right of shield. The engraved part is too sharp, given the amount of wear.
Not sure how anyone can tell much from those pictures.
The date is remarkably distinct compared to the rest of the obverse wear.... When it 'jumps out' like that, it makes me think work has been done... Cheers, RickO
This is just another reason that if you are in doubt...don't. I would not purchase it unless it was for melt value.

LIBERTY is raised on this issue and is usually worn off by VF... design flaw, but the detail in the skirt lines isn't consistent with the amount of wear... I agree with Bill Jones... likely tooled.

Tooled. Fingers and folds under arm are not correct. Cleaned. Rim ding. Ugly.
