Very interesting. Although I do not collect mint errors, I do find them intriguing.... I always try to figure out how it could happen in the minting process.... Sometimes, I don't think it can.... ;) Great pictures... Cheers, RickO

After years of searching, I finally found one last week ...

When you say "found," do you mean in a dealer's inventory or in circulation?

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

I have NEVER found a major error coin in circulation.

I have found major error coins in Uncirculated new releases.

I found the above coin already slabbed.

It is extremely hard for me not buy this type of error. So I hoard them. Got this one in last week ...

A rim clip on a 3 cent nickel. Not a “Wow!” eye-catching error but it’s on one of my favorite series.

Both 1929-S Off Center & Uncentered Broadstrike are from the famed Conway Bolt collection of mint errors Fred Weinberg sold in 1974.

The Bolt collection had more error standing liberty quarter’s in itThan any other collection up to that time – including a superb 1919 that was largely Broadstruck on a type one planchet that I believe is in a 67 holder currently-I’m glad to see you kept those two pictured above!

I had a chance to fondle the amazing 1919 MS67 centered broadstrike at JustHavingFun's auction lot viewing. Yeah I had to grab them both when they were offered to me as they just don't come up often. I just for kicks glanced and Heritage hasn't had a SLQ error since 2009 and Stack's Bowers since 2013.

Ouch! A double dateless buffalo. Either errors didn't get any respect back then, or money was really tight.

But great looking anyway. Although those buffalos look like they are getting frisky. :*
