Yes! I can see the VDB on the shoulder. MUST be a 1944 altered!

has it been reported?
Not sure if it has been or not, I just found it a little bit ago and I posted it here so others could view it and post opinions.

Look at the gap between the 9 & 1 sort of looks like its missing a couple of front teeth

That sticks out like a sore thumb
That one is very easy to detect as are all alterations like this.
Yep... Although the pictures are blurry, it is evident by the gap between the numerals. Cheers, RickO
That alteration has been around for many, many decades. I recall being offered one, as a genuine 1914-D, back in early 1962. At the time I had been an active collector for only a few months but spotted it as a fake immediately. Myself and the other teenage collectors I knew were all quite savvy and were not fooled by such alterations. We learned a lot from participation in our local coin club. No internet videos on finding a fortune in your pocket change then!
The alteration is actually quite crude and shouldn't fool anyone ... but has been fooling many ever since they first appeared. Buyer beware!
Reported.
I also remember it from 1961-62.

There's a gap been made between the 9 and the second "1" that one can drive a truck through. I have a very well made 1944 made into a 1914. I suspect that my piece had a glued on 'D' at one time. Excellent workmanship to make the 4 look like a 1. Inspection of the date under magnification reveals that the 1's are different lengths, however. The 1's should be evenly spaced with the 9 and the 4 and be of equal length on a genuine 1914-D Lincoln cent.

Kennedys are my quest...
Or until they repost it again.
Which they will.
Do these scammers ever get punished? Is there any practical way to make them pay for their crimes?
Yep, I had a case of this very point, it was a counterfeit 09SVDB, I posted in on the forum, it got PULLED, then I see the same coin in the same Magic Marker labeled plastic case show up Months later, but it was a different seller, I posted it on the forum and the Wind Blew and POOF! it was PULLED, then! another forum member runs across the same coin again and brings it to my attention, well the seller had created another user name and tried to slip the coin in but he didn't use the wording that would bring the coin up in my normal search, his listed ENDED and without a single bidder, So, now its GONE! he was told his coin was FAKE, he knew it was FAKE, and he likely bought it not knowing it was fake and was trying to recoup his money. He never had any other coins in his other seller items. If this altered 14-D makes its way back on ebay, I'll be on it like Hungry Jack syrup on Hungry Jack Pancakes!
