The reverse shows an impressive cameo P-L, but the obverse shows none of that. I would say the real grade is MS-64+, but it’s hard to tell these days. Unfortunately Ms. Liberty’s cheek seems to have a scrape behind her mouth that holds the grade back.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
Love the reverse. This type coin is one of the very reasons I have wanted to have Obv/Rev grades as ANACS and others used to offer. I see a beauty of a 65PL reverse, such a nice Cam, and then a soso obverse that from these pics I couldn't even grade nor even realize the opportunity of a PL surface. That would be a valuable coin to me if obv matched the reverse. Don't get me wrong, the obv cheek looks relatively clean and inhand this coin's obv might be far better. Thanks for sharing.

Really nice reverse...blotchy tarnish on the obverse....Marks on the nose and eye... chatter in the fields under the Eagles wings..... 64.... Cheers, RickO

MS64 PL?

Yeah, still waiting for the grade from the last time you did one. Pass.

I can't make even a guess from the images.

Decent toning on the obverse.
The prooflike qualities of the reverse make it look like a different coin.

Probably a 64 technically, but it’s a beauty!!
65+. Can't tell if the obverse shot for color hides PL/DMPL qualities. I'll assume no.

64+ PL
Nice one sided DMPL, I'll guess MS65.

I'm still a fan of the split grade system and I still do not like Morgan/Barber coinage.
65 and I really like the obverse toning. The reverse provides a nice luster contrast to the obverse as well.

Thanks for all the feedback.
Excellent example of a reverse that can't get you an upgrade but can knock a coin down (in this case to MS 65).
