Nice coin! I like the peachy luster. That serial number is pretty early too

I was stuck between a few coins in the auction and the serial number (and overall look of the coin) is why I chose to go after this one. One of the earlier green insert rattlers you'll probably see.

    Nice coin!

That "on a budget" comment might need some tweaking if you keep going down this path...

Almost has a copper look. Really nice.

I think the goal is to finish a somewhat simplified 1850 and on circulating gold type set in rattlers by the end of next year then see where things go from there. Upgrades, probably. If things go well I can probably swing a $20 by the end of the year, though I think finding a nice $5 may be harder, and the $1 golds even tougher.

    I have a $2.5 Lib, $3 and $10 Lib now.

    So I'd need...

    $1 Liberty
    $5 Liberty
    $20 Liberty
    $2.50 Native Head
    $5 Native Head
    $10 Native Head
    $20 Gaudens

It's a lot for me, but doable if things keep going well.

I like it! Great design....Always loved the 10 Lib.

Seems as though any gold in an older holder is through the moon these days. I like the coin and the holder congratulations on the purchase.

If it was easy everyone would do it! Carry on.

And yes, you need a Stella (Artois) 😎

    Nice pickup!

And from a slab era when 63 really meant something.

Very solid grade and the sticker adds some good confirmation.

Very nice! As far as buying gold on a budget, is it the Gates budget, Buffet budget or PMH budget? If it’s the PMH budget you’re in big trouble :).

It's the "How much money can I make flipping crap all the time to pay for the stuff I like?" budget. The harder I work, the more I hustle, the greater the coins I get to keep. :)

There is. Nothing of interest to me that is still priced remotely reasonable though.
