Link worked for me. Thank you!
First time I have seen that medal.... Have heard of NENA before... Cheers, RickO
NENA is the New England Numismatic Association. It is a little like FUN except that it is not nearly as flush with cash. It’s a lose knit group that is centered in the six New England states. They hold an annual “conference” and issue a small magazine that publishes articles from member. I have published there from time to time and was editor many years ago.
The organization sponsors a “NENA medal” every year that it issues in conjunction with the annual “conference.” All of the medals, except for the earliest one are well executed. The first one was made on low grade large cents that were planed down on the reverse. The design was etched into the surface with a stamp that was dipped in acid. And, I don’t have one.
This is a medal series I have never heard of before. I like learning about "new" old medals!
