Knoxville Show Report

Set up at the show today. I took reference books ( Flynn, Bowers, Lange) to name a few authors.
I'm selling my library so it won't be a misery to my wife when the time comes. Sold four out of the
100+ I took. The new ASE's were selling, but I didn't catch any prices. 90% was selling $3 above spot.
I bought 30 ASE's for $29 ea. AGE's were $1985 and the 1/2 oz. $1000. Lot of collectors were filling
folders with F-XF material ( Mercs, Buffs, Indian cents and Walkers). After One O'clock, CRICKETS!!
Two dealers had "Silver Bullets". Sold out very quickly. There was a lady there selling supplies, lots
of Dansco's , but no 7070's. I had a good time and I will probably set up a couple more times before
the end of the year.

Perhaps the return of college football was one of the reasons the show got quiet in the afternoon?
Disappointed that the book sales were so minimal. Knowledgeable collectors are the best long term collectors. Maybe with so much info on the internet now, people are less inclined to invest in books, but I relish many of mine.
Since Tennessee had played their game on Thursday evening, I didn't know that

there would be any worthwhile games to watch today.
We love to read show reports. Keep 'em comin'.
Thanks for the show report....Good price on the ASE's.... Cheers, RickO
I didnt get the pre-show email. Dont know why I have dropped off the list!
Do you have a list of the books you want to sell? I may be interested in a couple. @Tibor

Kennedys are my quest...
Thanks for your report.
You will probably do better with the books by selling them online. The specialized titles will probably sell well if you can find the specialized collectors who want them. Any general titles or "pretty picture" books will likely be a tough sell.
You may also consider consigning them to a numismatic book auctioneer (if there are any of those left).
Thanks for your report.
Thanks for your report. Been thinking about the 5 hour drive for a while. May make it next show.
