These nine coins ( of 14) recently crossed from NGC:

Except for the 1895 and 1896 all the others are top pop PCGS.
    I think the 1895 maybe a 1895/1

A couple of notes. I remember when you bought that 95. I wish it was more pronounced all the way through the five but I think that's a 95/1.

On that 48GO PF, I went to my old notes and this is what I had written....

Republic 8 Reales 1848 Go-PF MS63 NGC, Guanajuato mint, KM377.8, DP-Go32. A bit of a soft center strike with frosted iridescence overlaying a nice gleaming luster. A scarcer type and highly elusive in such well preserved condition and Uncirculated specimens are listed by D&P as rare. No finer graded example known.- Heritage Auction 271817 - Current NGC census 5/5/18 (7 Total Graded Not counting details, 1 at MS62 and 1 at MS63) - Auction estimate on this coin was $300-600. I was thrilled to win it for $360 including buyers premium. I purchased 12 coins in this particular auction and this coin was one of my top 5 that I wanted.

Lastly, how come there is no picture of the 48GO PM in your registry? I see it listed in your registry but no picture. That is by far the best example I have ever seen of that coin that you purchased probably a year ago.

Boy, that 1883-Mo in 66 would have fit in very well among these beauties! :)

I'm assuming that was your coin. You did quite ok with it at auction if so!

No, it wasn’t. We were just debating about at the show. But it did do well!

Good question on the 1848 GO PM ??

I looked it up using their cert app … no picture there either ….there is a 62+ that sold last year ( Heritage ) for $900 with a pic but nothing higher with a pic !

I have several 8 reales cap & ray coins with quirks like this including missing varieties being acknowledged .

Yes. The thing that makes your example stand out is it's the first one I've ever seen with full feathers on the eagle and a strong strike for that date. I think everyone gets so caught up sometimes in Gem quality coins that they forget how hard it is to just to acquire certain dates of coins.

Would love to see you write a new book on this full series with all the knowledge you have accumulated since the last book on the subject came out back in 1999.

I am sure many people would buy it and cherish it. I know I would.

Collecting is so much fun, but making a photo book, I LOVE that! Made a few in the last few years.

What an incredible group of coins in this thread. I have to say the set you're working on is a incredibly daunting task to even complete with circulated issues much less in the outstanding conditions you've acquired them in. Love seeing you share them. Keep up the good work.

    F/F

PCGS attributed this one as F over inverted F, but i think you're correct stating it's F over F. Similarly to the 2 in 20G it seems that the F was punched originally a bit too high and then filled and re-punched lower.

Additionally, in F over inverted F you can usually see the remains of the horizontal F bars to the left of the vertical leg of the new letter.

    Just my 2c

Does that definition make this a N/N ?

I sold a few of these to you, but this is the one I miss the most. Crudely made, but what a stunner in hand.
