Does the "e" in ebay stand for "evil"?

... I hear a lot of complaints about ebay.
What things could they plausibly do to make it soooo much better?

... I mean for buying and selling US coins. Not in general.
To be soooo much better for coin collectors, ebay should do XYZ, and it wouldn't greatly hurt their profits... that sort of thing.

They could stop blocking bids from people like me with 3500 feedback and a 25 year old account history from bidding on $1000+ coins when I try to bid at the last minute. I've had that happen at least twice in the past year. They were "protecting" me. Yeah, protecting me from getting a great deal and protecting the seller from getting a better price.

You mean echo-bay? What?

You could just search for the previous 300 threads rather than start another argument.
Ebay is the best thing that ever happened to coins and other collectibles.
No ... it does not.
Liking drama, OP?

Does "t" stand for "trolling"?
OP says... Hmm. Yeah my post really didn't serve much purpose... I don't think it accusatory or attacking, but on consideration it hasn't helped the signal to noise ratio. I'll try not to post while bored...
Enron started with an E.
eBay takes a little studying and practice but itβs the best thing to happen to buyers and sellers just about ever. I personally love it. Are there things I donβt care forβ¦.sure. But I have a rather nice collection and it never would have happened with out eBay

I see a closed sign in this threads future
Answer to your question: no.
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
This is especially true for people in rural areas that had no specialty shops. It gave access and visibility.
YesSir I live in the middle of the mountains way far from the big city. π€

He was being sarcastic.
Although given that this has been talked to death, you have to be looking for trouble to start the thread.
Yah I commented before my 2nd cup of coffee. Sorry

Has it ever occurred to you, that you might be blocked from bidding by those sellers?
Possible. However, eBay does have an anti-fraud program that will prevent large bids from being levied in some cases. I don't know what parameters are involved, but I suspect it depends on things like bidding history, liquidity of the item being purchased, etc.
Buying is always easier than selling. Rule #1.

Interesting...how do you have a buy that isn't coupled to a sell?
Theft πππππππ
πΆ shout shout, let it all out πΆ
No a) Because these are sellers I've never bought from. b) Not sure why anyone would block me, I always pay quickly, never back out, never return things, never reported a missing shipment c) Ebay error message indicates they are limiting my bids and support indicated it was due to suspected fraud on my account even though there's been absolutely no indication of anything being compromised and they can't tell me why either.

Lower fees!!! It will help buyers and sellers! At least, bring back eBay bucks as an incentive!!!
Positive BST as a seller: Namvet69, Lordmarcovan, Bigjpst, Soldi, mustanggt, CoinHoader, moursund, SufinxHi, al410, JWP
eBay still less expensive than store front or shows

LOL. I know it's a new era, but you may be the first person to call theft "buying".
Nope. It stands for EFFECTIVE. Great way to buy and sell coins.
Ebay needs to hire some collectible experts to purge categories of JUNK.
For example. If they hired me to police the error coin section, I would eliminate 80% of the listings (fake errors and junk) if I had that power.
You wouldn't have time to do anything else.
You wait. Some day in the future, only slabbed coins will be allowed.
My whole inventory is slabbed so no worries on the sell side.
I do like buying raw error coins that need to be certified so I would miss that part.
"Ebay needs to hire some collectible experts to purge categories of JUNK."
Suppose those experts believe all error coins are junk. Would you be okay with that?
I assume they would hire an error export to purge the error category.
