Well after almost 4 months as a member here.....it's time for a contest!
So we will make it an easy one....all you need do is guess how many half dimes are in my collection.
I collect half dimes from 1829~1873.
A few helpful hints.....or not! Im 67 been collecting for 60 years!
Mostly Nickels, IHC, Three cent silver and nickel, Mercury & Roosevelt dimes, assorted type coins esspecially varieties!

The prize is an unc. 2001p Kennedy half with the reverse ear clash!
This specimen came from a US mint bag back on 2010 as the 2001 p&d unc. Kennedy halfs were not released until then. The mint sold rolls and bags back in 2010 and the unc. Mint mixed bags of P&D mm had two new varieties found, the rev, ear clash was one of the two.
So the contest begins now!
And will end on Friday this week 7/30/21 923 pm est.
1 guess per member...and a extra bonus TBD for the spot on guess!
Thanks to everyone who has made my first few months here a real pleasure.
Looking forward to many more years of hoarding and collecting....and of course sharing the cool finds.

    As a Type Set collector, I have only four Half Dimes. Here’s my favorite:
    PR66+CAM, with CAC.

    I do appreciate all the comps! But I must say that the last 4 months as a member here,I have appreciated all the knowlege that is shared here. At my age I can assure you that old dogs can learn new tricks!
    I also appreciate the members here whom have now have become good friends in the hobby.
    One can not under estimate the value of knowlege,and the support of good friend.
    I have enjoyed this fourm durring a peroid that helped me recover from surgery.
    The best Rx is the gift of sharing ,and knowlege....and I thank you all for your replies to my post and sharing the passion that lights all our fires!
    It has truly made a difference durring some tough times. Thank you all.

    Ok a hint...
    On the capped bust series there are 9 years in the date set and 129 die marriages.
    On the seated liberty series there are 80 in a seated registry set of half dimes.
    However one must realize that some of the mintages and varieties are very small 1846 31,3300 pcs. 1867 only 6000 minted.
    But a lesson learned years ago....it isnt about the destination....its about the journey!
    And my h 10 journey has given me years of pleasure in our hobby.

    LoL i do not! I am 23 shy of a complete set by date,mm,and major varities...this wont help any guess as i do have several doubles,triplicate pcs. Theres 129 CB H~10's die marriages! Again I do have quite a few but I do not have all 129 die pairings.
    Look at mintages from 1863-69 not the S mints but the Philly mm.
    However as ive stated before it isn't about the destination.....but the journey!
    And its been fun as well the knowlege.
    I am very happy landing here on this fourm, ive made some good friends! And it has lead me to meet @yosclimber
    * Clint has been a great asset and his work in numismatics is outstanding!
    His work and knowlege of the series has been very helpful to my understanding on several dates,mm and varieties.
    I will confess that this series has captured my interest and focus since 2008.
    What makes me happy is those whom have been inspired by me and my collection to also begin to collect half dimes.
    The member who gifted me the t shirt is one who got bit by the half dime bug....as they are very addicting. :)
