GTG New Barber Quarter - PCGS OGH

I have felt bored with coins lately. I don't think this will be the shot in the arm I need, but I'm hoping I find it in Chicago in a month. This will just help pass the time in the interim, I guess.

Looks like a 58 to me.... overall, a nice coin, but a lot of spots...Cheers, RickO
Ugh I clicked the wrong grade.
I was going to go against the grain and say MS 64... That is my guess despite pressing MS62. oops!

AU58 for me - wondering about the slight greenish ("bubbling" ?) under the banner right side - ?

That's really pretty. It appears to have significant original mint frost and I love the adhered gunk.

I called it a 65, but I'd rather pay 64+ money,
then use JA's water trick to pre-screen for surprises,
Now figure out how much of @Tomb's "happy gunk" will come off in acetone
(including a stint in an ultra sonic) and
very likely then, expecting some of those spots to be gunk-initiated corrosion,
) in H20/E-Z-Est (4:1) hoping for a 65+A-
dip it (murdering @Tomb's "happy frost"
The coin has the typical rich frost of the date. A skillful dip will leave enough layers of originality left to likely work at the beanery.

I was wavering between 58 and 62. Went with 58 in the OGH but think it would 62 today.
I too was wavering between 58 and 62. Went with 62 in the OGH.
I’ll go with MS64.
Edited to add: If allowed, I’m going to revise my guess to MS63 (or lower😄).

Very nice example
AU53. It is probably in an AU55 holder but I would downgrade it slightly because of the black "stuff" on the reverse.
I put in 55.
I feel that the hair looks like it has wear, and the surfaces don't justify an unc grade.

While Barber Coinage is not a series I have frequented, so not totally familiar with die strikes, I feel that there is visible wear to the high points, especially the reverse. Should this be to die wear, then I understand the MS grades, but my guess for grade would be AU55. I realize this is quite a difference in value from the MS guesses, but I could not with my limited experience offer an MS grade.

I went with AU58. Has a touch of wear on the high points.
If no wear, 63...

The consensus gets it right again. It's a 58. However, I think it would 62 today with some conservation. We'll see what CAC thinks.
