I love 19th century proofs, they are just so beautiful and I just can’t stop looking at them. For all those 19th century proof fans, post your own proof for the 1800s.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
That's outstanding color on the copper-nickel three cent piece. Very pretty!
The above 2 are my favs, what exquisite pieces
Wow Awsome proofs, keep it going 👍
@Floridafacelifter Another prime rarity! Amazing Man!
holy cow!! @Floridafacelifter
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Haha thanks! I actually also have the finest known 1839-O (NGC PR65) that I’m going to try to cross later this year. The 1839-O is actually more rare than the 1838-O (in proof) but the 1838-O came first and has no business strikes so of course it is the rock star.

I wasn't expecting to see an 1838-O half pop up in this thread! Maybe I'll find one in my pocket change tomorrow too?![:D :D](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Look in your old pants

Never really realized the New Orleans mint made proofs. Always thought the 1838 o half was a business strike. Well now I know so thanks for sharing 👍. Super cool.
Not mine, but one I was super excited to work with.

It’s nice to see some raw old proofs these days, most are slabbed, though slabbing is good since the condition on these is fragile
Let’s continue this thread, I want to see more proofs 👍
These aren’t mine, but I took the pictures:

While I know these aren’t considered proofs or on polished planchets, they aren’t normal strikes either
