The coin looks so harshly whizzed up that I wouldn’t be interested even if it was, but no I don’t think it is

Shouldn't that be the way a true 42/1 looks?

    typically.

we're having a lot of "if I say it hard enough, maybe they will buy it" people lately.

Should this seller be reported so an innocent buyer isn't ripped-off?

Well if someone is going to report it, might as well get the 1942/41 D they have listed also.

dunno. haven't reported counterfeits in years, plus it's late, plus I'm tired, plus I am not up on ebay policies in this regard.

The seller could be confused that it may look like the 42/41-D - but obviously his coin is not a Denver Mint

Here's the sellers coin - I guess with some wishfull thinking and some pareidolia you could mistake it ???? (probably not)

This seller is a real joker-he's 0 for 4 on doubled die attribution.

Sent a polite note: Sorry, but this is not the 42/1 overdate. It looks similar to the 42/1 D overdate but it is not a Denver coin.

Ok. Have a nice day and stay positive. Maybe get a life as well. Then maybe you will be somebody one day. Thanks for your opinion though. I'll be sure to inform ebay they need to put you on the payroll. Then you could afford to buy the dime. HA LMFAO AMF

Some seem to be the ones that think a no mint mark cent is an error then find out they are wrong

And then there are those that try to use sales tactics on metal placement.

Nice response. Maybe it's time to report all four of his "doubled dies" to ebay as not being the variety he claims.

Sounds like some of the posters we've had around here lately. You should report this communication as well and hopefully they will NARU his account for being a total POS.

Goes to show some just don't like getting caught peddling misrepresented coins that all too often turn out to be bogus.
