Looks like an altered 1944-D to me, large gap between the 9 and the 1, a tool mark to the right of the second 1?

A very obvious alteration. I've reported it. Others should, too.

I would distinguish "FAKE" from "altered date" for educational purposes.

Another one down! me taking that burning on that 09S-VDB has been putting a hurting on the sales of, Fake, Counterfeit, Altered Lincoln Cents with the help of the many fine forum members here!

Mark, there was one 09S-VDB Lincoln Cent that made it through ebay and was sold. So, this coin now isn't about a current ebay listing, its just your input (if you don't mind) on the authenticity of the coin.
Here on the forum we got mixed thoughts about it. I'm not looking for a debate just your observation and feedback (just for discussion purposes).
If I'm right about this coin I'm thinking we could see more of them.
Here are the pictures of it!

Seeing how I changed course a bit from the title post, I value everyone's input so I want to make sure which coin you're referring to, the 14-D or the 09S-VDB?
I'll insert a clue in this comment as to what I think it is, that way right or wrong it'll not be me just taking sides.
If your commenting on the 09 could you please elaborate on at lest one specific of the detail, we all agree that the 14-D has had the first 4 altered to appear as a 1 but when the discussion for the 09 came around the views were at best mixed.
Thank you for contributing to one of my discussions!
Cast' a vote, is the 09 fake, counterfeited, altered, or genuine? and the specific issue.
