so there is a large form around the D. And on the reverse there are several extra marks.
Does this coin potentially have any value? I know the condition is not that great.

It is environmental damage. What you are seeing around the mintmark is corrosion forming underneath the copper plating. The center is zinc and zinc is very susceptible to corrosion.
Corrosion. These damned zinc things are a complete failure.

A rotting zinc cent. If you let it deteriorate it won't even be worth one cent.
Spend it in a hurry.
Corroded junk. Value one cent.

Yep... Post Mint Damage (PMD) and zinc rot, which follows when the zinc center is exposed. Cheers, RickO
