Post your Mercury dimes, SLQ's and Walker's! These designs are so fantastic! Which design do you love/collect, and why?

Also my favorites. I don't have many graded mercs, but I do have a raw album going.

Both of those are just spectacular....Well matched too! That 1917 SLQ....! They made them well that year! Beauty.

@jesbroken Man those are tasty Walkers! The 1939 is talking to me!

The Walker has one of the best designs in the American series.

The Mercury Dime is also quite attractive.

The Standing Liberty Quarter is attractive when well struck in Mint State, but the design was hard to strike, and it is not attractive in the circulated grades in my opinion.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

@BillJones agree on Walkers....and certainly as a kid, when I saw one, it captured my imagination and still does to this day. The SLQ might get my vote as best/coolest coin design ever....They are just unique. These coins really represented something special....When you look at current designs, the Roosie's, Kennedy's, and Wash quarter, it's quite pathetic really.....to even attempt to compare against these designs.

Always loved the designs but except for lower end types for my album I don’t have any. Just the gold centennial ones I got when issued. Been wondering if I should sell them now that gold is going back up. I’d net a small profit now. Not worth sending in for grading.

Graded last month. 1 of 5 toned coins in a proof set I picked up a few years ago.

Waiting for True Views to post on the 4 minors. The dime is very colorful.

@SanctionII That Proof Walker is among the most unique I've ever seen and totally off the chart beautiful. That is a very special coin.

    Thanks for the kind words.

The True View shows the colors of the coin very well, but is does not show the frosted central devices and the deep watery fields. The colors appear to be floating on the watery fields. It has fantastic eye appeal. Unfortunately hairlines are present which limited the grade. It is a PF65.

I love all three designs but do not collect any of them as a series. I do have a few of each for type/year sets.

I have full sets of circulated Walkers and circulated Mercury dimes. I also have a bunch of uncirculated examples as well.

Why do I love/collect them? Don't know. I just do.

They're all beautiful designs, but the Mercury Dime is the easiest to obtain well struck.

The Walking Liberty Half has always been my favorite design...but so very closely followed by the Merc and Buff.... They are great coins and reflect the pinnacle of circulating American coin design IMO. As a kid, it was a great feeling to have a WLH in my pocket - and even better with some Mercs. Cheers, RickO

I like Mercury dimes a lot, both slabbed higher grade ones and also lower grade ones raw in albums. Mrs_Spud has a nice set in a Dansco album and I have a lower grade set too. I also like standing Liberty quarters, but only in high grade AU or MS. I like walkers and have a late date set in MS in a Meghrig album. I don’t like walkers so much in lower circulated grades, but I have a low grade set in another Meghrig album anyway. I don’t really like how the coins wear down in a line right through the middle of liberty on the circulated ones though. But I think they are great in MS when they aren’t worn down in the middle of liberty like that.
Here’s a few of mine that are slabbed.
