Newp New Rochelle - let’s see yours.

Hi all - got this today. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I like some toning. Pretty happy with how it looks in hand once I cleaned up a scratched up slab.
Aren’t a lot of threads with these coins that still have images. Let’s see yours!

Nice one Bob!
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

Misspelled the name Rochelle on the slab tag. Not one I would consider though. Cheers, RickO
These typically tone nicely:

Commems and Early Type
Nice looking coin, but the hair/face/hat ratio on the design has always seemed a bit odd to me.
I see why you bought it. There's just something about that type of toning - when that luster comes through, I really appreciate it. There's prettier toning out there, I get it, but that type of toning/luster combination just has a certian honesty to it. I dig it.
U.S. Type Set
Nice coins. Thanks for indulging me.

I’m curious what is the flower looking thing on the back?
To me it looks like a flower looking thing.
@Mdcoincollector2003 - it’s a fleur de lis. It’s on the city coat of arms and borrowed from the coat of arms from Rochelle.
The Wikipedia page for this commem is really good. Lots more about design and distribution - even more than the QD Bowers book I have.

Mine's kinda bland.
