Parsippany NJ show report

Lots of silver but prices were high. $34-$35 per ounce on bars with most dealers saying there bars were special
Most dealers were trying to buy but very few sellers
Highest dealer paying 21 x face for 90% silver
Seemed to be most people were buying raw coins
I bought a F-VF 1921 Peace dollar raw and was looking for slabbed but none could be found in any grade
Prices seemed high on a lot of coins like common GSA CC for $430
Good show with lighter than usual foot traffic and only about 80% of the tables occupied

Wholesale buy on 82/83/84 in OGP is $330 sight unseen

What were they claiming was special about them?

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

What was the covid protocol today at the show? Maximum foot traffic at a given time? Masks? Dealer plexiglass?
IMO, this show doesn’t get back to normal until we lose these restrictions.

    Thanks for the show report.

How much were dealers selling raw average circulated pre-1921 Morgans for?

Thanks for the show report. Not sure what could be 'special' about silver bars...Numbered? The CC Morgan prices do seem a bit high...Cheers, RickO

Thanks for the report, I've noticed cc dollars going up in GSA Holders and Non Gsa.... I think its a bubble though. Anyone have any info on this?

All I can tell you is that wholesale went from 175 to 215 real fast a couple years back, then in the past 6-9 months its just crept upwards $10 a month or so until it took off about two months ago and they went from 275 to 330 in something like two weeks.

My guess is demand is strong and dealers are churning right into that strength. Pretty insane, but parallels the rise in bid for P/N graded Morgans over the same timeframe. 63's went from 42 bid to 65 bid? Or so? I'd have to pull the numbers and I'm being lazy today.

Both Albany coin show and Parsippany were held yesterday, thanks for the report. I haven't been in a few years, quite a drive. Much of the trade is going online for those so inclined.
