US Mint emails "clarifying" the "Silver shortage"

Did anyone else get that email from the US Mint this morning clarifying the "Silver shortage" crisis they referred to? Wow, what a blunder. They have to realize the ramifications of their words are heard throughout the world, influencing global markets and people's livelihoods. They could have started a panic! I'm disappointed at the reckless choice of words our Mint has used. If people were rushing to buy their products before they will be even more panicked now, and getting anything from the Mint made of Silver will be even more difficult.

Shame on the Mint for this. No one EVER hears the "correction", only the falsehood initially told. This is true in many domains, not just coins.

I would love to know if this email prompted major bullion sellers to see a significant uptick in 2021 silver bullion, from the us mint, only exacerbating the silver shortage problem...

Some Bullion Dealers would tend to disagree that there is a shortage.

    Yes on the email.
So once again the Mint issues are due to "outside vendors" not being able to meet demand of silver blanks. :D
    Hire more vendors. :)
Why can't they update us on how they are working to correct their software issues? This is the real problem. Software does not care if there are no blanks to be had. Its primary function is to take orders and not fail when when being used. >:) The Mint website crashes are do to the inability to handle the volume of orders. With all the Tech savvy in the US Gov't, this should be a none issue. They need to fix it or continue to lose business.

Two things... There is no shortage of silver.... perhaps...and only perhaps... the Mint has had an issue getting blanks. Neither situation matters when it comes to the incredibly poor management of the Mint ordering system. This happens every time with an issue in high demand. Cheers, RickO

Agreed. This always happens, and the so called shortage was just a red herring. I wish the email would have given us more details on what they expected the ordering system changes to do, and some idea of the timeline.
