King of Siam set was issued in 1834/1835, wasn't it?

Yeah, right..... :D;) They would be digging real deep if they commemorate that issue. Cheers, RickO

Maybe for the semisesquincentennial or whatever it is called they can do dual dated coins of all the first issues of each denomination from half cent to eagle in the original metals for each.

Given the mark-up on mint issued coins these days, the "new" King of Siam Proof set might sell for almost as much as the real one.

This thread was to point out that the U.S. Mint is currently bankrupt of ideas and caught in a Sisyphus like existence reduced to re-issue after re-issue of prior designs.............

    Bankrupt of ideas? Really?

@messydesk.... JMHO.... I know there are commemoratives for seemingly inconsequential events.... This one seems - to me - to be about as consequential as a glass of water in a tsunami... Cheers, RickO
