Post your Police/Law Enforcement coins/tokens/exonumia.

My dad's badge when he was in the job. I should have taken some BEFORE pictures. It was a mess with verdigris! Brasso cleaned it up nice!

Wow! If that badge wallet could speak...

I got an email from the US Mint titled "support law enforcement" or something similar, to promote the upcoming commemorative coin, so it must still be allowed on some level.

You dared our host to close your last thread on this and they did. I see you have chosen your words more carefully this time.😉

Hopefully others will do the same but you are on a slippery slope my friend. Good luck!

Honoring our people in service should not be political at all. If someone tries to make it political delete their comment and send them a warning!

Here is the 2015 U.S. Marshals commemorative set. There are so many commemorative coin programs these days we tend to forget them.

The half dollar, which has a better design than the dollar, IMO, as usual.

The dollar, which has an obverse that I found to be a bear to photograph.

And the $5 gold coin which had a hefty mintage for a modern gold commemorative of almost 32,000, Proof and Uncirculated combined.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Wasn't this the thread that was closed, and then reopened? I've never known that to happen but my original comment on the original thread is still above.

I see the OP's first post was modified and one other political comment was deleted.

I negotiated with the MOD. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

That's great! A first as far as I know.

I just wish I had something to post. :(

I do have a sheriff's office challenge coin that I'll post if I can locate it.

I dont understand this thread - it's not that tough - this is posted in a us coin forum - threads should be about us coins - why is this thread here? there's literally the entire rest of the internet and free world to share whatever you want, but in this here us coin forum, threads should be about us coins - the op literally shared a badge - that's not a us coin, unless I'm mistaken 🤔

Are you new here? There are many exonumia and related posts here. I consider badges to be of interest to those that collect medals and tokens. I find this thread to be interesting and I'm sure many others here feel the same way. If a topic doesn't interest you, just skip over that thread.

If this thread is on topic, great. But either way, just because a thread is of interest to some forum members, doesn’t mean it’s not off topic. And to suggest that people skip over such threads doesn’t address the issue of whether they’re on topic. Forum members shouldn’t have to skip over off topic threads.

My point was that there are many other off topic threads yet this thread was the only one that he complained about.

    what other off topic threads?

and since when is 'other people do inappropriate things, so why can't i' a good justification for anything?

if someone opened a thread titled 'post you bird-themed coins, tokens and exunomia' and the op didnt share a us coin related to the theme and posted a picture of a blue footed boobie, and subsequent posters shared photos of dodos and tit warblers, or just saying things like 'birds are great, I love birds', 'save birds, we need animals flying in the sky', and 1 or 2 posters shared a us coin related to birds, that doesn't make that thread about us coins, that thread is about bird love - AND THATS FINE - but this forum is about us coins

it's really dead simple - yallre intelligent people - it can't be that hard to grasp - this is a us coin forum.

"Coppers’ Pennies: Official challenge coins tend to be shiny and inoffensive. But unofficial coins often celebrate cops behaving badly. During a traffic stop in May 2020, Connecticut State Trooper Matthew Spina screamed obscenities and placed his hand on his gun while ordering a motorist to get out of the car. “You’re fucked,” Spina yelled in a video captured by the driver. “How’s that sound?” Spina was suspended, yet in a challenge coin made for his fellow law enforcement officers, he was immortalized as “Every LEO’s hero.” (A spokesperson for the Connecticut State Police said, “The coin does not represent our values.”) Other coins have commemorated “blue flu” walkouts and the riot squads (“hats and bats”) that responded to Baltimore’s Freddie Gray protests in 2015 and the George Floyd protests in 2020. A recent one reportedly made by a former Louisville officer shows nightclub-wielding cops in front of the flaming skyline of the city where protesters took to the streets after Breonna Taylor was shot to death in a botched police raid."

Ok. Now everyone can see you are having a temper tantrum! Ironically you are breaking the forum code of conduct which states:

Posts must not contain inappropriate language in the form of cuss words, name-calling, sexual suggestion etc.

So you complain the OP is breaking the forum rules and then you break them!

Let's see if you are the one that ends up getting reprimanded by our host. That would be hilarious 😂🤣

oh freddie ... but, like other posters have said, interesting w all the threads comments breaking forum code, you zeroed in on this one? 🤔 reminds me of nerdy tattletales in elementary school 🤔

just going with the thread theme - hope it's ok 🥺👉👈 😘

nah, @JBK - I legitimately know yallre intelligent people, so feigning stupidity as to why this thread is off topic doesn't cut mustard

how are my coins off topic? they are exactly in line w op's request - apparently mods believe these types of threads belong on cu's us coin forum - strange position to take, but their decision I guess 🤷

good one * wink, wink, nudge, nudge *

look, yall do whatever you want, but there's an entire community of numismatics and coin enthusiasts here to share, look at, learn about and discuss us coins - I just don't see what an entire thread of police badges has to do with us coins, but clearly I just don't 'get it'

    stay cool, kiddos ✌😎

    Love the challenge coins.

I have a bunch of the,. Some people make it a hobby all in itself and pass them out at training etc.

I was even given a “Home Depot investigations” coin once 😂

I do wonder if anyone realizes the the challenge coins 180-degree collector posted are not satirical issues, but rather issued by the cops themselves?
