Secondary toning AU58!
Make that a pair of AU58 opinions.

I think the coin exhibits AU55 qualities.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Love the type but unfortunately I do not love the eye appeal
me neither, too much circulation for 58. 55 for me.
In the album...

Mid to high AU, spotted lower obverse, but overall not bad looking.
Neat specimen! Originally thought it was a 63 or 64. 58 seems like a safer bet.

Not fully original, but I think you know that ... it still has some good meat and luster left and a pretty decent look.
Looks like it would be a 55 in my book ... and it really does look good in your book!

AU55. Too much wear on the high points for a 58, IMO.
58
Retoning, not attractively, likely will need another dip.
I would call it a 58, but would worry about those obverse spots.....Cheers, RickO
55 by current standards. 50 by my standards. Possibly dipped long ago.
Thanks Everyone... here's a little more of the backstory on this coin. It was my first ebay purchase in maybe 3 years or more. At the time, I was getting a bit disillusioned with the coins I was looking at on that venue. Also, there's something about getting a divorce that really puts a crimp in buying coins!! Go figure!! As Life is finally "moving along"... I took a chance on this piece. As you can see from the seller's photos, there looked to be a little toning on otherwise decent surfaces. The old ICG holder didn't bother me much and the final price was about half of a "55-money"... I figured it was dipped and had started to re-tone. The spots are a bit distracting, but I actually like the pastel color starting to come back. I'll likely upgrade after I get the set complete, but this one will serve as a decent place filler in the meantime... and it got my mojo back for bidding on coins!!
