    I have always liked these Pine Tree Shillings... I do not have one, but dream of finding one while metal detecting - Yes, my area was settled at that time and it would be possible to find one. However, no luck so far...Cheers, RickO

    I believe that the correct term is “replica.”

    Let's do another ... a three pence. These coins are scarcer than the shillings, but since they are smaller, they sell for about the same amount.


    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
