I have always liked these Pine Tree Shillings... I do not have one, but dream of finding one while metal detecting - Yes, my area was settled at that time and it would be possible to find one. However, no luck so far...Cheers, RickO
very nice @mbogoman

I kind of feel like I'm flogging a dead horse: Box of 20 people start to sound like broken records:
For those who haven't seen one in hand (which was me before I bought this example), they can be bigger than you might think.

This Pine Tree Six Pence is struck off-center (as all see to be for this Noe number), but it is best preserved Massachusetts Silver piece i have.
I, for one, wouldn't get tired of seeing that.
It's a perfect example in my mind.

@1630Boston, I don't have a real one, but I do have this old medal. I just read that he received one shilling for every 20 minted. He must have minted a lot of these to be able to provide that large a dowry. My unmarried daughter better not see this one

I believe that the correct term is “replica.”
Let's do another ... a three pence. These coins are scarcer than the shillings, but since they are smaller, they sell for about the same amount.
Nice to see a Howard Edward MacIntosh piece.
