Half Dollar no FG?

This is a 1974 Denver half dollar. I don’t see an FG. What do you think?

    I see remnants of it.

Looks like there's something there where the initials are.

Lol. This so, reminds me of one of my previous "NO FG" test. Same coin too, 1972d. Mine was a stickler too. Half of my posts said NO, and it was close. But in the end. It end up a WINNER.
Good Luck with your Kennedy. ;)

    I think I see remnants.

  • I'm going to hang on to it for now. I hate to waste the money to get it graded to come back a normal coin. I plan on getting my west points graded. Not sure if any of these companies have bundle deals or not.

A 1974 d fs-901? I have searched thru PCGS and have not found a listing for one. Any help would be appreciated.

At this time I don't think there IS such a thing as a 1974-D FS-901.

So you agree with me that the only coins of 1974 d are weak strikes with faint FG.

I really don't know. I Just can't tell from those images. I don't believe there is a listing at all for 1974-D FS-901.

Well, that's a '72-D, a known variety for this type, not a '74-D. To the best of my knowledge there's no such thing as a '74-D with missing initials.

Here’s a real deal 1974 P version for you. Very tough coin to find.

I think you need to visit the eye doctor. Those are 1972-D NOT 1974-D

I was unaware of a '74-P missing initials variety. I'm not really into those, tho.
