Congrats on the strong sale Blurry!
Cards are definitely cooling off. Modern more so than vintage.
You might have timed it pretty well.
Of course, hindsight will always be 20/20 👍
thanks bud! i learned along time ago that it's impossible to time the peak of any market. when we are talking cards, the peaks might not even be true peaks to begin with. plus as @DM23HOF stated earlier, it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a card, it's the next one that a couple of guys are going after. in this instance, for me personally, it's the 56 mantle. never woulda guessed that and more than makes up for what may seem to be the less than stellar 51 mantle. of course, all these are dupes so pretty easy to relax.
the signed aaron run was also mine. so incredibly strong prices on some of those like the '59 and '76. the aaron, banks, koufax 8s. brock 9 and one more really big one that's not finished yet.

I would still rather have the Rookie than the ‘52. Wish your price was stronger. Thanks for the info on Golden. Will add them to my avoid list.
In the levels I play in - have continued to get more and more through private sales and avoid the middle men.
Congrats Oakley25 on the win.
Blurry hope you put the funds to something that means more to you than those cards did. I am sure you will. Congrats on the sales.
brand new house for the fam in august. might have a detached car barn/card room. gonna have to fight the mrs for most of that space though. she can be bribed, but not cheaply.

Damnit! Sorry Blurry! I hope you at least made a small profit.
Don't worry I still predict a Hellcat in your future.
I agree with your point about VCP with the rarer, high dollar items.
i've had all of these cards for at least 5 years or so. i was thrilled at where they all were even prior to the extended bidding session. zero complaints whatsoever! 😉
Gorgeous! No matter what the subjective sticker says. I'd love that piece the same whether it was a 1 or a 3. That is my favorite of your signed Micks right alongside your '55, '69, and of course the Big Kahuna.
As to next stop on its journey... I think the next stop should be you finding it in your big heart to sell it to me for my Mick collection, maybe putting me on some year long layaway plan!
Over at this end I whiffed on another signed 52T at Heritage (was planning on downgrading my signed '52B, along with selling a slew of other cards to make it happen, just couldn't raise enough).

we’ll work something out one day! 😉
i was even bidding on that 52t for a little bit. it actually used to be a 3. have no clue why someone would reholder it to just authentic. but apparently they know more than me, bc it worked. i foolishly thought i mighta had a chance at walking away w a steal considering. i thought wrong!
and thanks for the kind words! think i shared that 3.5 that was my original place holder for the 51. was one of the tougher decisions at the time, but i rest easy knowing the centering and eye appeal match the 52.
welp. kinda feeling better. goldins example topped out at a mere $325k. apparently there was also an in-house reserve as the realized price shows “pass”. i believe this ultimately means unsold.
of course, i dont think this one or the last one he auctioned should have ever been in an 8 holder to begin with.
I think it's sign the market is cooling down. I have always wanted a Rice rookie in PSA 9 and the latest auctions the last 4 or 5 weeks seem to show them coming back down.
Successful coin BST transactions with Gerard and segoja.

I expect the "Instagram Crowd" and their short attentions spans are starting to move on. Prices on vintage and blue-chips will never see pre-covid levels again of course but they may take a while to reach or exceed their boom peaks.
I feel we are nearing the middle of the backside of the boom.

@MattyC
didnt know where to dump this, but finally went to the box and got an updated pic outta that old sgc a holder and/or initial psa “a” holder...
so far the journeys been: sgc a > psa a > psa 1 > next?
i think a 1.5 or even 2 is fitting personally.

still wanna hear so more rocky stories though!
Eye appeal on that 52 Mantle w/ auto is off the charts! Amazing card.
