Thanks. I only wish I still had the Coin World article where John Wexler confirmed it was a new doubled die. Funny, I have most all other articles I’m in but the biggest for me and I can’t find it.

Your doubled die is the new Class of doubled dies for modern coins produced with the single squeeze hubbing process called a Class IX doubled die. See Wexler-http://www.error-ref.com/doubled-dies/ for an explanation.

I've never cherried the '76-D DDO-001 and I've been looking for over 30 years. I had one, an AU55, in my set of Wash 25c d dies but I got that one by trading other d dies for it.
You're not alone. I've been looking for 30 years too and have yet to find one.
I have however received a 1965 die 1 as change.
This was about 1997.
1914 4/3 5c Die #3. Another Class III doubled die. Other Class III doubled dies are the 1918-D 8/7 5c, 1943 3/2 5c, 1942-P and D 2/1 10c, 1918-S 8/7 25c, and 1909 9/8 $20. The various 1960 Sm/Lg and Lg/Sm and 1970-S PR Sm/Lg date cents are also Class III d dies.

A fellow office work worker found a nice AU. I've haven't been so lucky.
That is one of my favorite Lincoln Cent varieties. I have only been able to snag one (actually cherrypick) but have bought and sold quite a few.
The one I cherried was part of a large collection and obviously you sell off the "better" aka more expensive stuff first and then wade through the flotsam.
It was sitting in a blue Whitman, subsequently graded MS65RD at ANACS.
It was likely sitting there in my office for 6 months or so before I got around to looking at it....🙂
This coin is recognized as the issue with the greatest spread between hubbings of ANY United States Doubled Die Coin. IIRC the spread is a little under 180°.

Like most doubled dies die state is important. I'd like an earlier die state than the one I have. I also have the proof sm/lg date.

Nice find. I've found a few myself over the years.
This is one of my greatest fears. Not being a professional numismatist, having something rare or significant in my collection and not know it!!
A fellow office work worker found a nice AU. I've haven't been so lucky.
1936 DDO-001. MS64 and a nice die state. I also have the much tougher DDR-001 but no image yet.
1948 DDR-001. MS65. Another one where the spread is wide but the individual hubbings are indistinct.
76-CC DDR Trade dollar:

77-S DDR Trade dollar, FS 802
77-S DDR Trade D. FS 801
78-S DDR Trade D.
Beautiful assortment gents!!

Here's a couple from when I was collecting as many dates possible of DD's in the Lincoln cent series. The 69-S might always be out of reach though.
