Unexpected (happy) outcome!

ShaunBC5ShaunBC5 Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭✭✭

We had a garage sale at our old house, which we currently rent out and were going to put on the market when our renters move out next month.
The yard sale part went OK, but we ended up selling our house!
Since no realtors are involved, we’ll each do a little better than if we’d listed.
Show me a coin where you got more than you anticipated! A super deal, or a cherry pick you didn’t know you had until later...I don’t care. I’m just super pumped about my house and want to see your coins!

Congratulations on your house sale. No coins sold.... And if I did not have to work today, I would be looking for garage sales today... nice spring weather. Cheers, RickO

Yesterday I sold a 1802 large cent for $10, bought it for $4 a few years ago. 👍👍

I have found paintings and prints that have decent value.

Probably the best find was 300 autographed baseball cards for about $40. Sadly 99% were worth about $1 at best..

All were 90's era minor league and guys who did nothing in majors. Flipped them to a flea market guy for $100. Of the few I kept,, the best name was Nelson Cruz and made about another $100.

Wasn't until after the fact I found out Blowout cards gave trade credit. Could flipped them for bowman draft box, but was happy with the quick 3x profit.

Got about 30 pounds of marbles somewhere. Hoping for some treasure but that project is down the road.

    Thanks, everybody!
In case you’re wondering about my insane profit on the house - it’s nonexistent. I feel super fortunate to be able to sell at time when it’s finally worth what I paid for it (at the height of the market in in ‘07).

Congratulations on the sale! Housing is hot right now!

I picked this little guy up for $471 on eBay then put it up at GC. A bidding war broke out and it sold for $1205.

    It's a MS65 older NGC holder.

I originally bought this in an NGC holder UCAM68, but the holder was really scratched and beat up. I got it really cheap. I sent it in twice as a cross over and was successful the second time. When I saw the TrueView and the coin in hand in a new holder it looked way better than in the old holder. I is one of my favorite DCAM's I really think it should + grade and will send it in for an upgrade.
