one of the biggest things that kept me from picking one of these up was Ron's waffling on what he was going to do w remaining stock, as stated in his fb video - it sounded like stowing em away and selling em later was on the table, * and that's fine *, but that def detracted from the desirability for me - if he would've said 'I'm going to melt down whatever remains after sales end', then I absolutely would've picked one up
that said, these nickels are incredibly beautiful, and appreciate the new owners for sharing theirs
onto the next 💨
Ron keeping a few didn't affect my thinking at all since I bought mine with the understanding there would be a maximum mintage of 40. Even if Ron kept a few, 17 is much less than 40 so every one less is a bonus I wasn't counting on. There are always people that wished they could have gotten them some later.

I get where you’re coming from @ɹoʇɔǝlloɔ but, like @zoins said it’s still way less than 40 and
these are the nicest gold nickels ever made. With the original set from the FSNC and his re-release
strikes without the club name and now gold will make an impressive set of 1938 nickels.
yep - just sharing a dif perspective - appreciate that that didn't affect yalls purchasing decisions - again, they're beautiful, and now 1 less sold in 2021, so: you're welcome 😉😜🙃

One thing I like about the re-releases is that it seems to have made the original sets a little valuable. Lol
.
.
I used to follow sales of the originals so I can buy an affordable set. I’ve noticed that these go up and down drastically. A few years back I found a set reasonably priced so I bought it and stopped looking at prices. Now on eBay the prices are crazy high. People have managed to flip the new ones for almost double.
.
I guess what I’m saying is prices will always immediately change but when the newness settles down
everything comes back to average prices. And, when more people realize that 1938 sets were not made
and mintage is around 800 or so then the prices in the original sets will rise.
.
My 2 cents

Steph,
Does anyone know what the final mintage figures were on the original sets?
If less than 800, might I just maybe have the last set produced?
These arrived today. I am so jazzed, I never believed that I would find a set that I could afford . . . . .

Ah, I see my question has already been answered. I need to read more, and post less . . . . . .

nickel forum of Facebook.

These have gone up in value nicely. I wonder how many regret not buying more!
I didn’t know about these when they first came out. I got my 3 on the secondary market at a good premium.
Random delivered # 90 pair arrived at $90. I was clueless, I could not think of a number pair to request. The Landis universe gave me two 90's & My Lucky #13 24k goodie I bought at a nice % off discount original issue sale. Three pandemic arts for my coinage archive by one of my two favorite Coin Art Artists.
Your # 17 capped his 24k production. I followed thru the sold out linky and was prompted by inquire button to call & get my number thirteen 24k delivered. In hindsight I feel Chief's #38 silver pair was brilliant, but you #69 is pretty sweet as is Route 66.Numbers alone can be cross collectibles. Some numbers have extra~universal meaning. @KindaNewish said:

With that amount of time, it would have been great to have gotten the mintages on the labels. Did Ron publish final mintages for all the compositions?
