Im going to post 3 Indian head cents ,another series that Ive played with over the years....then sold some only to buy em back again. I do find it to be a series that has a way to capture many interest with all it has to offer.

This one for fun......

Indian Cents were my first love when I was in high school. I finally completed the set with coins in VG to Mint State. I sold that set in the early 1970s.

I have dabbled with them since, most recently completing the early dates from 1859 to 1865. I also have the 1908-S and the 1909-S. I have thought about going forward, but have not mostly because I am trying to ween myself from U.S. coins.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Thanks .....the 1884 is a new discovery for me....as most think oh pmd.....nope rusted die.....
The 1st 76 is another i need to have attributed as it has a dot on the reverse o.ne ,as we know did use dots to catch a thief.
I enjoy pickin the 1867 a better snow variety.... no reference book near by or I quote chapter and verse.
I too had the 1877 in xf and both 08 & 09 s coins....sold the 77 and 09s kept the 08s ......but again filling holes isnt my thing variety the spice of life.

Ya know I do sometimes want to kick myself ,selling some coins that now wish were still part of the hoard.....but ya see that's the problem....hoard....50 + years of stuff in general..... I have no family or children to leave it to....so sometimes Im like sell....other remorse from having done so.
The one good thing about selling off some stuff......lol.... is it makes room for more with the fresh cash flow. :#

Nicely done carvings! I just hope they didn't destroy an 1865 DDR-001 when they carved that one.

Look closely at the 1 as well under the date  obv. 4 rev. D variety 4

Obverse 4 is identified by repunching to the south on the 18 and repunching to the north on the 7, with date placement at C.  Obverse 4 is observed with a rim break between 11:00 and 12:00.
    Reverse A develops a cud between 1:00 and 2:30

IHC's were really my first 'collection' coin... I thought they were so very cool - still do. But as a kid - who played cowboys and indians - it was really special. I may still have one from way back then, have not seen it in a while though... a very worn specimen. Cheers, RickO

Thank you for the heads up.....and appreciate your comps!
Are you talking the carved 65? Yeah that and the 76 centennial one are two favorites.
Now to confess the 76 I paid $5 for purchased from a dealer friend who when he quoted me the fin....I couldn't get the money out fast enough....the 65 I dis pay more not over $25 if my memory serves me. Both are items that I would never part with.... as they speak to me that much.
