Tarnished silver dollar

PickwickjrPickwickjr Posts: 556 ✭✭✭✭✭

Here’s a new purchase that I just couldn’t pass on thanks to a good friend. I know it may not appeal to some collectors but this coin is stunning to me. Most have been clean and dipped, not this one.

Best of both worlds for obv and reverse design. Nice coin as well.

That has the circam look, but still well preserved. Amazing how a coin from 226 years ago can be so well preserved. Cheers, RickO

Nice VF35. Trueviews look old as heck or something.

I was very lucky to purchase her. I had a hard time finding the date. Picked one up about 5 years ago that was a sweet piece. But this one takes the cake. I just love the small eagle reverse.

Leave it alone. Removing the tarnish would take away a lot of the value.

That 1795 off-center Draped Bust Dollar has been on my want list for years. That coin marked the introduction of the Draped Bust design which is one of my favorites. I have never been able to hook up with the right one. I do have the centered bust variety.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
