1954 proof nickel error

I received a 1954 proof set and discovered the reverse of the nickel had a piece of debris and the C in America was partially missing. Under the scope I also noticed tails on some of the letters. I can’t find any errors that show this. The first two images are the reverse from PCGS

Debris is not an error, it's just dirt.
A thin letter is probably due to a partially filled die, usually grease
Your photos are very good. Thanks!
Good photos.
CA issues look to be from a heavily polished die.
The debris is not struck into the coin so it's just extra junk laying on your coin.
The debris looks like a very small delamination.
The trails and weak letters I believe are a result of a late die state.

The c is pretty much how they look on proof Jeffs.... maybe a die state issue ,not damage ,the extra medal could of come from the mint loose and was packed in the set.
It looks as if some of the serifs couls be split, a trip to varietyvista.com, or Wexler coins will give you spot on images to compare .
Years ago before the modern mint tools to assure quality assurance one could find all sorts of medal in bags of coins. Including the strips from which the plachets were punched.

Added proof nickels are hard to image and to read from images, much better in hand comparison to some better image from a site that offers information on varieties.

What is more powerful, the wishful mind or a magnifying glass?

Kennedys are my quest...
Excellent pictures @Peace1 .... I agree with the above regarding the metal debris... and the die wear or filled die of the C is not significant... No numismatic premium for your coin. Cheers, RickO
beautiful photos
