Good Advice, NOT taken?

Hi guys, do you ever occasionally get, what some might call, "good advice", that at the time seems like good advice but can actually be not good at all? Yes, we all have gotten good advise from our parents and teachers that in fact, turned out to be great advise. Esp. when growing up. And for the most part, we kids DID take that wise and good advise. Lol.
Anyway, my whole reason I started this thread was because some of you guys have given me "good advice", in most of my threads. Majority of your advise posted, I've taken. Then in the end most of the time your advise would be the right advise to take. I even take my wife's advice from time to time. Albeit how hard that may be. Lol. So here's the advise given to me on this one particular coin. It's the 1972d Kennedy, that I think is the "NO FG" variety. Majority of you guys adviced that it wasn't the NO FG variety. Some, fewer than most, agree with me. Including my dealer friend. Speaking of him. He "advised " that whether the coin turns out to be the variety or not, he claims that the coin has "environmental damage ". Boy o boy. So not only, I have many of you guys disagreeing with me on the variety but now I have my friend disagreeing with me about the coin's condition. Lol
In closing, Although advise given to me, in which I am most appreciated of. By you guys, as well as, from my friend. I have decided to take my own advise and disagree with both suggestions. By sending the coin in to PCGS. I'll let our Host decide of which advise was the best taken. Thank you all guys, for your "good advice". Lol

One last thing. Even if my friend's advice turns out to be correct. I'd still be happy with the holder stating, " environmental damage " but having the variety on it.

Did you post an inquiry on this coin earlier? Would like to read what advice you were given.
I will hold my opinion for now as you are sending the coin in for grading.

Thanks. The coin is already in PCGS's hands. Received confirmation yesterday.
Yes, this was brought up in one of my recent threads. Just go back to , "The 1972d Kennedy NO FG variety", thread. Maybe two to three pages back? :)

Save your money, your next cherrypick may be better to spend the money on. ;)

I believe 99% of those are NOT in holders. That may explain why the low values?
Thanks for your, "Good advice ". Lol

    Good luck!

They almost all doubted and hated (and some still do) my Orange Monster toned Franklin...

Sometimes in hand can tell you things a 2D image cannot.

    Go with your gut!

In any case, the money spent will be a well earned tuition and/or validation

Even if the coin is designated "no FG" it is ugly and has a rim bump. It is probably not worth the money you are spending to have it slabbed.

Ah, but there's a buyer for every coin. After all, I bought a torched 1927 $2.5 that was laughed at... :p

interesting - with all the fees, did you send with a number of coins? I am curious what your cost ends up being for this coin (pro-rated with the submission) after getting grades back. I realize the variety fee depends on if you get it.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the link. In the old post pictures, I still believe that there is evidence of the FG showing. I said then that I think that the coin was doctored and had polishing lines. I do not see any FG remnants in the above pictured coin but still see a lot of marks. I hope that you are right and I am wrong. It is difficult to say who is right and who is in error without having the coin in hand. Please let all of us experts know the outcome. ;)

My advice is to learn the difference between "advice" and "advise".

"Advise is a verb that means to suggest what should be done, to recommend, or to give information to someone. The S of advise sounds like a Z. Advice is a noun that means a suggestion about what you should do. The C of advice sounds like S."

There is one in every crowd Joey! My ADVICE is to ignore Mfeld and enjoy the hobby!🤣😂

He means well. Just giving some friendly advice. Thanks. :)

But if you can sell it for $5 raw, it beats $40 slabbed.

I agree that if they are not in holders the values would be much less.
There are several listed on ebay in holders but for some reason none have sold in the last 90 days. Low demand?

Thanks for your, "Good advice". Lol

As long as you are still able to LOL when it comes back it is all part of the learning curve.
Thanks for sharing so that forum members can learn too. Looking forward to the results.
Good Luck, I hope it exceeds your expectations. :)
