Here are some new die trials I picked up from @mustanggt along with my slabbed So-Called Dollars. Glad they can be paired up!
(1940s) The Days of Old The Days of Gold The Days of Forty Nine - Miner Standing - Bronze- J-140 - NGC MS66 POP 1/1/0
This is nice slug. It's somewhat common slug but in uncommon condition.
1939 Golden Gate Expo Hensley Dollar - NGC MS64 - POP 14/18/7
This is a great piece because it has a map of all the expos in the past.

Very nice... I really enjoy stories about the gold rush (and coins/medals etc. depicting it). Having panned gold in California streams and found small amounts of gold dust, I can relate to the feelings of 'seeing color' in the pan...
Cheers, RickO
I got this Wisconsin PPIE piece years ago... sadly I have not seen a SCD with this design...

BEAUTIFUL!

Nice die trials!
Thanks Mike! I had an opportunity to buy a few more but passed on a few which I regret now!
I do to have the following Adam Pietz Dollar in lead which I'd love to get certified one day, hopefully by our hosts
1917 Pietz Dollar Loyalty Medal - Lead - by Adam Pietz - HK-895 var. - Ex. Rich Hartzog, Steve Hayden (d)
That's an amazing and historical artifact!
At least Wisconsin was at the PPIE!
Here's a postcard and photo to prove it!

I finally got around to photographing this one.
Aluminum uniface die trial for the Colorado Century of Progress HK-867 and HK-868.
Of course, there is always the question, was this die the same one that was actually used on the regular issue ?
Here is a close-up picture of the "OF" from the die trial (note the minor letter defects indicated by the arrows):

Congrats on a amazing piece with a great provenance! This has a great look to it, almost as it was designed that way. It's also great that the reverse is almost completely flat. The provenance on this piece going to Abe Kosoff's estate is also amazing in that this is a piece that he kept in his collection.
