Child's collection 1873-CC no arrows half dollar - What do I do with it?

Hello, On Aug. 30, 1999. I was at the Walter H. Child's collection auction by Bowers and Merena. I purchase lot # 379-- this 1873-CC no arrows half dollar.
I put in my safe deposit box and forgot about it.
What should I do with it? Should I send it to PCGS as is, to get the pedigree on the label? or should I leave it as is? Should I take it out and use acetone on it? What is your opinion? The note on the back of card says it is not for permanent storage. (Possible PVC damage, I guess)
I do not see any PVC damage but maybe you do.
I don't know what I paid for it, someone with the catalogue can look it up, if they want to.

Keep it exactly as is. What a good momento
What grade did you purchase it at?
I can give you a buck and a half for it, but that's the best I can do. I'm taking all the risk here. I'll have to frame it, it'll take up room in my shop, and it may sit for a few years until the right buyer comes along.

Looks like a VF......It's probably worth around 2 grand in that condition.
I like the Pedigree and original sales packaging.

All the lines.
The reverse appears to have a tinge of green on the design rim at about 12 o’clock. If you move the coin around within the flip and it leaves a circle mark in its previous position, that is an indication that there may be some residue on the coin, even if it isn’t green colored.
I am guessing that the flip is sealed, just like they do today? If so, I would vote for removing it from the sealed flip. Though, if you are looking to preserve the provenance, I am not sure about the best way to do that.

I have lots of slabs with original auction insets taped to them from Stack’s Bowers and like them just fine, actually better because of the protection and TrueView with the historical insert.
I wouldn’t worry about name on the slab. It’s nice while you hold on to the coin but the current trend is for new owners to remove all previous owners from the slab and just leave their own name.
As for the best way to keep the provenance on the slab, I'd contact PCGS.
I am working on a seated half collection in my Dansco album. If you know what you want for the coin just let me know.
Here's your cost.

Hey, thanks, I did not know that was available. I do have the receipt for it somewhere.
Nice coin... Especially as a surprise in your own collection.... I wonder if I have any 'surprise' coins I have forgotten about....
Cheers, RickO
Nice find. Makes me want to go digging into my unseen for years hoards.

Kennedys are my quest...
To calibrate valuation / pricing plus get it ready for marketing I would want to it get graded by our hosts. In VF it’s about a $2000 coin. I don’t like the obv spots and probably would consult them about removal.
It appears to have been dipped at some point in time so a details grade is possible. I advise my clients against buying this material raw as a past cleaning a considerable likelihood. Even if no prob grade I don’t believe it would sticker. JA expert on detecting coins that had past cleaning.
As far as pedigree would consult PCGS about getting that on holder.
I grade it VF / Cleaned.
Send it to PCGS as is for Restoration Service/Grading. The sealed flip with B&M auction info should be sufficient evidence of provenance if you want it on the holder.

We’re supposed to buy the coin and not the holder, but that packaging adds a lot to a very nice coin. Let her be!
Very nice half. I say leave it as is and don't misplace it again. Lol! Peace Roy
