Yikes!! Thanks, nightmares for weeks!!!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.
Those green label PCI holders are notorious for toning coins. I like the toning though.
I'm fairly certain I bought this one from you several years back. Looks pretty much the same as when I bought it just a bit deeper color now.

Would these PCI coins cracked from their holders and submitted to our host be straight graded or rejected as AT?
BTW, I do like the look of these coins.
nice, your Morgan looks better than many in PCIs
I used to crack and almost all would grade. Now I feel more safe sending it in
the slab and let them crack it out. I made the mistake of cracking on a Morgan
and it came back Au details.......learned my lesson.

That does look familiar Steph. I've owned quite a few over the years on & off. I've always liked them.
A long, long time ago when I was first getting started collecting, I helped a local shop owner sell an entire run of PCI toned eagles, many that said 100% white in the original PCI slab box - The set was 1988-2004 if I remember correct.
I was too poor to purchase them all for myself at the time but never forgot them. I'm sure they are long since scattered around now... but maybe not, I sold them here on the boards but don't remember to who.

That is why I do not have any PCI slabs in my collection....

The target toning that develops is eye-appealing. In this market the coins are probably worth more toned than 100% white. I would leave them in their PCI holders.
Interesting toning... likely would have bought it myself... on an impulse.
Absolutely. At this point, the holders, the label and the toning have all become collectible.

I would recommend only the 4 grading services accepted by eBay: ANACS, ICG, PCGS, NGC. This was the same criteria for Teletrade and I believe GC if not mistaken.
The ASE assuming those lt scratches on holder at least 69, the dollar MS64 at best.
I have a few PCI coins like that also. Nice.
100% Positive BST transactions
All of these PCI graded coins are the older PCI holder- note the font especially the pointed top of the 6 and the number of digits on the reverse side of the slab
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
PCI grades rarely go up, so higher than 67's not likely
It's not getting re-slabbed, the grade in my mind is irrelevant. It's a super clean ASE, the slab has some scuffage.
The holder, it's history and the toning is what I like more than the number on the plastic.
At the end of the day, it's really just one ounce of silver.
Also, I thought I read here in the early days of slabbing ASE's, most were given a blanket grade of 67 often regardless of if the merited higher...

I totally agree with a few minor differences. Have have maybe 20-30 of these. The ones that
are toning super and on the edge of turning dark I will send in to be graded. Just to keep it from going terminal. And, I have submitted several years back cracked out and did get graded MS68. Now, this may
have been in the super early times.

Hi @ricko
The PCIs do seem to tone quicker and along the edges.
I have ASEs in their original PCGS slabs that were blast white when I purchased them.
Some now show some nice toning. All photos are untouched. They have been a Lighthouse album for years.

@WAYNEAS.... Wow.. .did not expect that to happen with PCGS slabs....I better check mine...Most of my ASE's are proof from the mint... but I do have some in PCGS slabs. Cheers, RickO
That is a very nice example of a great coin design.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
@ricko let me know how you make out. And I know that if yours did that they will probably be up for adoption. Always looking to adopt. LOL

@ricko

Another side note:
I only have from 1986 - 2018 proof coins in the set which does not include the 1995 W. My set includes different sets within the main set. I have all the "Limited Edition Coins, Enhanced coins, Coin and Currency coins, Reverse coins and Congratulation coins. All are PCGS slabbed. It would take some serious time for me to see what ASEs that I have and are straight mint issued. They reside in the bowels of one of my safes.

Kennedys are my quest...
@WAYNEAS.... Yep, I have the limited editions and a couple others... I stopped the series the year they skipped...except for the specials. Always get the W ASE's...and I do have the 1995W. That is slabbed by PCGS. Have not checked it in a while....And yes...mine are in storage in the depths of my finished cellar man cave.
Cheers, RickO
@ricko, FYI, 2009 was the year that there was no proof coin minted. It really ticked me off.
Wayne
Kennedys are my quest...
@WAYNEAS.... Yes, that year they skipped really bothered me... I like the ASE and was really happy with the series - up until then....
Cheers, RickO
Yes that was the start of the slip and slide for me on this set. Then add the issuance of really low mintage releases that I could not buy directly from the mint.
The after market pricing of $1,000.00+ to get one, made me pull the drain plugs and sink this boat. I was at the time going to buy the 95 w. Sank that money into my Kennedy sets.

Kennedys are my quest...
@WAYNEAS... I got my '95W, slabbed, by chance. Missed out on one on ebay (about 1997), and got an email from a guy in NJ (I was in Seattle at the time), asking if I was interested in his..... Told me it was slabbed etc., I said it sounds interesting. He said "I will ship it to you so you can check it out.".... I said OK, but you don't know me, seems like a risk.... He said "No problem, I am an attorney, and if you screw me I will make your life a living hell."
I said OK... he did, I liked it and paid him... and it was a good price, before they rocketed up. Cheers, RickO
